Well, I had to compare it to the previous season of Durarara and this is my overall review of the first part of the second season.
STORY:
It is comparatively slower than the first season yet the last few episodes did speed up. Loved the ending. Without giving too much away, I can say that the final plot twist was definitely my favorite of the show.
ART:

Deadman wonderland felt like a ripoff of Death-race. The originality of the story was lost due to it. Nevertheless, the Shounen effect was present and I did enjoy it. However I was disappointed with the level of goriness since that was overly emphasized in almost every review I read of this anime. Shiki had more of that eerie feeling but did not get that from this anime.
