Finally, after all this time, Attack on Titan has ended. And just as I was frustrated with the ending of the manga, I'm just as frustrated here, but not for the same reason.
Let's start with the first special. The first special was a near perfect adaptation of the manga, and improved upon the source material in nearly every way. The "I'm so disappointed" was a spectacle, and Hange's death was animated beautifully. The tension that was built up that whole special was amazing. to put Attack on Titan as one of my favorite anime, and honestly, it truly deserves it.
The final special is where everything gets fucked. Not the entire special, as the first half of it is just as good as the first part. Levi's promise to Erwin being fulfilled was amazing, and the emotions I felt from that were heart wrenching but also just happy to finally see Levi follow Erwin's final order. Then, the necrophile kiss scene happened. While it was uncomfortable, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had remembered it. Maybe because I kinda see Mikasa as a bad person, and this kinda bullshit is just on brand for her character, but it didn't feel as bad to me this time. Even the simp stuff wasn't that bad, and honestly it was more funny than anything. Stupid, but honestly not a big deal.
Now we get to the problem shit. 1. Founder Ymir loving King Fritz. If that was going to be the case, we should have saw that at some point, and there was no foreshadowing for it whatsoever. I'm sorry, but you can't just introduce stockholm syndrome, and expect me to buy it just like that. That needed development, and considering what we know about what King Fritz forced Ymir to do, especially feeding her corpse to people, I cannot buy that, and I never will. 2. Eren murdering the human race, just because he wanted too. This was actually explained a little better in the anime, but it's still bullshit. In my opinion, I just can't buy that side of Eren's character, mostly because he so clearly cared about them the entire story. I refuse to believe that Eren is some wannabe serial killer that caused mass genocide on a whim. What's even more infuriating, is that this kinda plays into the final problem. 3. Remember the classic quote from the manga, "Thank you for becoming a mass murderer for our sake. I won't let this horrible mistake you're making be in vain."? Well that's so close to being fixed in the anime, but instead is changed to Armin saying that he's thanking Eren for letting both of them see the sight of 80% of humanity dying. So basically, Armin also wanted to see the world without any titans. This ties into number two, because the explanation for Eren attempting to kill everyone on earth, was basically because Armin showed him the idea of a world without titans. Do I think that's kind of a cool idea? Yeah. Do I think that it's the only reason Eren did it? No, because he also had to care about his friends, due to him hugging Armin at the end, and clearly still loving Mikasa. So in other words, Eren is a fucking liar. He killed 80% of humanity because he wanted his friends on Pardis to be safe, and also because he wanted a world without titans. The whole point of the "I was so disappointed" was that Eren wanted the world to be simple, and not have other humans outside. The phrase "have your cake and eat it too" actually applies here. Eren can want both, but it seemed that Isayama wanted to backpedal on the idea, while also having it at the same time. It's a shame, because with a few tweaks these two wouldn't even be a problem.
To sum up everything, I still love Attack on Titan, and I still think that like Death Note it is an modern classic anime that people could watch without even being an anime fan. Despite the issues with this ending, and despite how frustrated I am with it, I still love the series to death. So honestly, even if I'm not satisfied, thank you Isayama. Thank you MAPPA. Thank you Wit Studio. This series is great, and even if it isn't perfect, it's a series that no one who's watched it can ever forget.

During the 2000s there were three anime that stood tall above the rest at that time. The anime that brought an entire generation of anime watchers into anime. Of course, I am referring to the big three: Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. While I personally got into anime through other means, Bleach still means a lot to me as a series. I have so much nostalgia looking back on it, that it's hard to imagine life without watching the series. So now, let's get this review on.
Characters: Bleach characters are always interesting to talk about, because there's just so many of them. That can be

seen as a flaw, because sometimes too many characters can cause it to become cluttered and then the story becomes hard to follow, or the characters lack any sense of depth. That being said, I think Bleach pulls it off. Every character has distinct personalities, and almost every character has well thought out connections with someone else throughout the story, whether important to the plot or not. Take Rangiku, a character that is basically just in the background, and is seen as a simple big titty anime girl. She actually has a vital connection to one of the most important characters during a specific arc. That just goes to show how much time and thought was put into the characters. As a main character, Ichigo is that guy. He's the man who shows up, ready to have your damn back in any situation. His transformations are some of the best shounen has to offer, and his characterization and self-discovery journey are beautiful. His relationship with all of his friends, especially Rukia, are dynamic and interesting. There is so much to talk about with the characters, but I'd like to keep it spoiler free, so I'll stop there.
Soundtrack: Shiro Sagisu knows how to write music. The Bleach soundtrack is my favorite in anime, no questions asked. Tracks like: Treachery, Number One, Shinji's Theme, La Espada, Never Meant to Belong, Stay with me, and so so many more go so hard.
Animation: Considering how old it is, the animation can get choppy at times, however it's not unappealing to look at by any means. That being said, it could be better.
Overall: I didn't talk about too much because I didn't want to get into spoilers, however I have to recommend it to anyone willing to skip filler. (Please don't watch the filler, it's really fucking bad). The story is actually really well thought out, and it's worth the watch.

This review doesn't have any spoilers for the manga, this is just me spilling out my feelings about Berserk while listening to Guts' Theme on Spotify.
Berserk is what got me into manga. I originally just read Death Note and Kaguya-Sama Love is War's original mangas because I enjoyed the animes respectively. However, it wasn't until I read Berserk that I truly realized that the medium of manga was something different from anime. Reading Berserk opened my eyes in a way no other series in this medium has. the series that really hit home, even if I can't really relate to it.
There are many things I love about Berserk, that I cannot pick a favorite thing to love about it. The action is incredible, the story is intriguing, the lore is interesting, the characters are loveable, hate-able, funny, and make me evoke so many emotions when reading. The soft tender moments between Guts and his companions are so heartwarming. That's the thing that always gets me about Berserk. Despite all the suffering, despite the struggle, despite the unbearable weight, even when it seems like the end if never coming, even if it seems impossible, there is always good with the bad.
There is always a time in Berserk that gives us a reason to keep on cheering for Guts. It's not edgy for the sake of it, there's something more to it than that. Sure, the first few volumes aren't exactly appealing to most people. Majority of people will stop reading right then and there, and that's fine. Berserk is not a series for everyone, but it's a series for me.
Even when reading the first three volumes, I found myself so intensely immersed in this word of despair. I was hooked from chapter 1, despite the numerous flaws. But this was the first time I saw something that I couldn't really describe when I was reading a manga. The interactions between the characters were one note, but to me there always felt like there was something missing. Despite the fact that it isn't labeled as such, Berserk has mystery elements at play. Especially when you're tossed into a world that you know nothing about.
I know majority of people on this site know what Berserk is, and many people have read this manga. For those of you who haven't read Berserk, I can only tell you this: It's a series that I cannot overestimate enough. It might not be for you, and that's okay. I just urge you to try it. Take a gamble, and hope you enjoy the struggle.
