Really disappointed by this movie. After the amazing looking but rather underwhelming Dragon Ball Super Broly movie, we get this...
What I liked is Bulma's with to from the Dragon Balls which is a double edged sword. The Dragon is used as an accessory devaluing and making these sacred items looks like jokes. What you get out of it is getting more horny for Bulma because she looks sexy as fuck in this movie.
Then Piccolo does something questionable and asks his potential being unlocked. The reason that is questionable is for these reasons:
- Namekian aren't allowed to use the Dragon Balls for selfish reasons. Knowing Piccolo

is fused with Kami, that should be more of a reason he shouldn't do it
- Why didn't anyone else do that until this movie? Why not Gohan, Krillin, Yamcha, Goku, Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, Videl, Mr Satan or anyone relevant ask for this? It makes everyone look stupid for the sake of the plot.
It was a cheap power up and similar nonsense happen that took me out of the movie.
Also most the things we see Goku, Vegeta and Broly do is a waste of time. Nothing there mattered, they only existed because we need to spend the runtime somehow. And I think Beevus is also horny for Cheelai. Didn't sit with me that he looked like that at my waifu. Jk.
I find it questionable that the Red Ribbon Army can still create such powerful robots that can keep up with the Z Fighters. It was already stupid in the past, now its even worse with the power jumps. Where did they get the resources? And why didn't we see these guys in the past with Dr. Gero?
I really looked forward seeing this movie after all the hype, but now I was left completely disappointed.
Gohan and Piccolo's final power ups look almost comical. Gohan looks like an adult version of "Teen" Gohan from the Cell Saga with that stupid hairstyle. Ironically the enemy is an emotionaless Cell lookalike. And Piccolo looks like an orange Hulk.
Avoid this movie if you aren't desperate to see more Dragon Ball.

I will refer to Z Broli as Broli and Super's Broly as Broly in this review.
I don't get it. This is just an inferior version of the old Broli movie. Paragus was allowed to escape with his son without consequences unless you count him being stuck on that planet with giant bugs and crabs.
Meanwhile the old Broli movie had some tragic imagery and irony what made it feel deep storytelling wise and fun to watch.
Also when it comes to powers, the power of the original Broli feels more believable. He was the legendary Super Saiyan as it was described by Vegeta and we

have seen justification for his power during the run in the movie. He was destroying a galaxy as he was introduced. Thus he felt like an actual threat to Goku and co.
Meanwhile DBS' Broly just beat up oversized insects and aquatic creatures and Goku and Vegeta have trained under gods. Thus when Goku and Vegeta fight him, they appear weak instead of making Broly look strong. Broly feels like another character who is as strong as the plot wants him to be like many villains in these kinds of movies. Think of Bojack from Bojack Unbound or Hildegurd from Wrath of the Dragon.
What bothered me the most is the adaptation of Dragon Ball Minus being featured, a complete retcon of a beloved character Bardock. The new Bardock just isn't anywhere as interesting as the old one. He makes Goku's backstory a generic Superman backstory rip off instead of a unique twist to it.
Fights were fun to watch but the Super Saiyan God form was a waste. The side plot with the Dragon Balls was stupid too. Goten and Trunks were useless. Goku and Vegeta didn't carry the potara which would be more useful than risking the planet just to learn to synchronize their movement for the fusion dance.
Frieza's motivation to grow also came out of nowhere. A weaksauce homage to Commander Red's with. Missed opportunity to build up a great joke with Broly mistaken him for a girl because Frieza is small or something would be far more interesting. That is what made old Dragon Ball humor so great. We get all these pointless "jokes" and it goes nowhere.
What I liked is Cheelai because she is sassy and looks hot as hell. Great waifu material. And the animation is top. Gogeta is always a pleasure to see. I think where was no moment Gogeta was screwed over like Vegito. He always leaves an impression in Fusion Reborn, Broly and GT. The transformation sequences, except Broly's final form, looked beautiful. I loved Super Saiyan looking like it was in the anime with the aura making the outfit brighter. Goku's gi clashed in colors with his Super Saiyan form in Super and felt off putting until this movie.
Oh, Paragus exist. Just without the interesting personality as his DBZ counterpart who has to see the irony of him being forced to brainwash his son, thinking on a diabolical plan to take revenge on Vegeta and his tragic death through karma.
So despite all the positives, why did I give this movie just a 2? The fights didn't really feel that interesting. I think the Gogeta portion was the weakest and didn't feel like Dragon Ball. It looked like a Trigger animation with all the stars after an attack, which I normally like, but after all the things happened it sticks out and kinda feels lame.
Also the CGI took me out in a lot of moments.

Really underrated hidden gem movie.
It is about Frieza's brother who came to earth to kill Son Goku. At the start, of the movie he criticized Frieza for letting that Saiyan go and it would bite him in the ass.
So there is some maturity in this character and I like it. He is more than just another strong opponent. He has the features of an older brother were you can see he has gained life experience and in how he talks to his underlings.
What I like about Cooler's troops is they have individual personality. They aren't controlled by fear like Frieza's soldiers were, parody villains like

the Ginyu Force nor are they mindless followers awaiting orders. Aside from that Cooler assist his underlings in situation.
Comedy is great in this movie. Be it the interaction between the members of Cooler's troop or Goku and Chichi interacting about what is important.
The action speaks for itself. Piccolo is always one of the best characters in the franchise and gets the best fights. The members of Cooler's force use unique techniques and have decent team work. Sauza uses the infamous ki sword we know from Goku Black and Super Vegito before it was cool.
But obviously Goku vs Cooler was the highlight with one of my favorite Super Saiyan transformation sequences.
Sound and animation is pretty good. We see quiet a viarety of places and Cooler's attacks affecting the environment leaves some interesting visuals.
If you haven't seen this movie, you should do yourself a favor and watch it. Forget about it being non-canon or some bullshit. This is one of the things why people love Dragon Ball and you should give yourself that pleasure.

Reading Dragon Ball Supers manga is like watching Dragon Ball Heroes. You can't really tell who stronger than who. It's like some of the logic of Z no longer apply.
You have times where Gohan is clearly weaker than Goku. But then it seems like off screen he surpassed him.
Even Roshi performs better in his fight against Jiren than Goku did in Super Saiyan Blue. It's dumb as shit.
What is going on here? I am completely confused. Even on some of the things stated and visual cues.
There is an enemy that can absorb energy passively. But in a later fight he has to

pick his target and thus you can dodge his absorption powers.
Fights look kinda nice. The touch in detail and unique panels make it more engaging than watching the anime.
As for characters, Goku is very unlikeable in the manga. He makes some of the worst decisions without thinking about consequences. And has Goku always been such an asshole?
I get the feeling the author hates Vegeta. It seems like he is going to do something and has some good moments, but then... a wild fuck you appears and Goku robs him the victory :(
Other characters are background decoration. They get a few panels to be flashed out but meh...
I think Jiren is actually a good character in this. But the Tournament was so short I don't remember much of it. His motivation was good tho.
The story arcs feel very rushed. Hit is very underwhelming in the manga. Black is there I guess... Same with Zamasu.
Goatlactus is a rip off of various old villains. Let's see: King Piccolo, Cell, Buu, General Dildo, that green shadow dragon... pretty sure some more.
Art is good tho.
Overall I feel very disappointed. Good art but the fights are kinda repetitive. Also Toyotaro ruined Kefla and Caulifla, so I can't forgive him for that.
If you can't write a good story, at least gimme some good waifu material :<

I think Toei or Toriyama have an obsession with Frieza just like with Broly. The dude can't stay death for a single arc.
Even if he isn't the centre of the story, his cells are still involved. He is in almost every flashback or with anyone involved. It just doesn't stop. And every time he returns he is the butt of all jokes, even if he gets an illogical power boost like in this movie by training for 6 month off screen and surpass even the latest recolor power up by our Toriyama-Sensei :D
Frieza poses no threat. Whis and Beavus are there eating desert while Frieza

shits his pants seeing them. Like in the previous movie Billus is treated like a gary stu and turns everyone into his bitch. Honestly, I feel if instead of a movie we got a slice of life series, Frieza's power up would be more tolerable. But this movie tries to be serious and ruins Frieza in the process. Not that he needed any more humiliation. Trunks, GT, Fusion Reborn etc already did a fantastic job in making Frieza look like a jobber. And Dragon Ball Super would turn Frieza into full Team Rocket.
Toriyama-Sensei was inspired by a Music which the people keep yell Frieza. Said music appears in the theatres and its making me honestly laugh. I like a good comedy but I don't feel that was the intended reaction by the directors.
How about the fights? So the jobber teams exchange some blows. Piccolo struggles with some orc dude. Is he perfect Cell Level? I doubt. The movie nerved Gohan and Piccolo making them look weaker than they were on Namek. Gohan apparently can't even use his full power and gets humiliated like usual since the Buu Saga.
Goku and Frieza would finally enter the fight. For some reason Goku and Vegeta care more about taking turns than just finishing off Frieza who like every DBZ villain would blow up the planet if cornered. Thank god he won't do that...
Goku and Frieza would change colors looking like designs I am certain I saw on Deviantart at some point.
Then Goku gets almost killed by some gunlaser making him look like a weakling. Isn't he in some kind of God Form? How did that happen when back then he could tank shit like that and not even flinch?
Talk about inconsistency.
So Vegeta enters the ring and gets killed by Frieza because Frieza did the unthinkable and blew up the planet. :/
Thank god we have the Dragon Balls to fix that, but since nobody wanted to animate Porunga for this movie, Whis turns into a plot device who can just rewind time so Frieza can be stopped.
I think I spoiled the movie, but seriously I didn't. You can see the ending miles ahead. Vegeta being a jobber and getting humiliated even by a worn down Frieza is Toriyama's specialty. He hates Vegeta and I don't know if I love him for that.
Music was meh. I liked the jokes with Jaco. Tien used the Tri Beam so he gets points for trying. The CGI was a turn off, but the colors were pretty. I like pretty colors :]
Sadly I can't give this movie a good score. Every character in this movie was a disappointment. The premise is something we have seen billions of times. And it kinda negates the things that happened on Namek. If only Frieza trained before coming to earth... maybe even Super Saiyan Blue Trunks wouldn't be able to stop him.
Why didn't Frieza train anyways in the first place? Being scared of Super Saiyans... that fear was unjustified.
Also the entire exploration of all the universes was halted wasting the things established from Battle of Gods for a filler movie.
And there were no cute waifus. If you can't give me a good story, good fights or ruin previous arcs... the least you can do add someone as hot as Kefla to keep my attention and excitement. If a Love Live movie were called a Dragon Ball Z movie, at least that would get at least a 5.

I don't know about you, but I am falling asleep everytime I see this movie.
So this time I tried to pay attention and well... this new antagonist Beerus or Billus has been sleeping all this time during the story and never get involved in the issues of the universe. Just happened to dream about Super Saiyan God which happened to be a reason he came to earth.
It kinda feels weird especially with Broly existing now that of all places he only visited earth and happened to be stronger than anyone our characters faced so far.
Goku also felt out of character this movie. When was the

last time Goku underestimated any enemy and offered to hold back? Beevus turned him into his bitch like many characters will be in this movie. Don't fuck with the GOD OF DESTRUCTION.
The gags also dragged down a lot of the runtime and most of it was infantile humor. Like Pilaf apparently shits his pants when he gets too worked up. Very disappointing considering the Pilaf Gang were my favorite in the original Dragon Ball. Now they ruined them :(
And Vegeta also acted weird. He gets scared by some cat remembering how his father got humiliated. Weird considering Vegeta as a child was already stronger than King Vegeta. Now he makes himself look like a clown in front of everyone because of that? Ok...
The CGI is also very distracting. A lot of the action is slowed down so Toei can flex what they can do. It was so annoying I couldn't enjoy the final fight at all.
The God Ritual is also weird. Why did Goku not lose power when going out of God Mode? Why didn't he go Super Saiyan 3 to get more God Power instead of just Super Saiyan? It really confused me.
The only good thing about this movie is setting up what is going to come, which is Dragon Ball Super and some badass characters. But this movie was not only underwhelming but very disappointing.
I don't remember any good thing if I am honest. So it would be unfair to give it even a score higher than 1 :/
Just watch the Super adaptation. The jokes there are actually build up and characters are more in character.

Railgun T starts of a BANG this season. It's really great seeing finally another Level 5 being involved. Tho instead of one we get two. Sadly the first arc Misaka is used by the antagonist but at the first arc she has to deal with her friends being manipulated or hurt.
Masaki I thought from Railgun S to be a villain type character in the future considering how much power she has, but we see a side we didn't expect to see from her in Railgun T. She immediatly became one of my favorite characters and came in clutch at the end.
Also some lower level characters

get some really good fight scenes.
Regarding the other main characters, this may be a very weak season for many. Kuroko and Uriharu are hardly doing anything, but they aren't useless.
Saten may be the most useful of the three.
In the second arc Misaka and Masaki would team up to stop a doppelganger. This is my favorite part even if the story isn't as amazing and deep as the previous.
Misaka Mikoto is a complete badass and shows why she is one of my favorite characters.
The Scavenger are introduced, who were shafted in A Certain Accelerator, and came in clutch teaming up with Misaka. The members of Scavenger have great personalities with Naru being my favorite.
The leader would also get a good character arc which I thought was cute. She was really dark in Accelerator and had a pathetic moment when they lost.
If you are a A Certain Railgun fan, it may not be as great as Railgun S, but its still fire. You are missing out on how BADASS Misaka can be and Masaki actually being involved.

Keijo is freaking fire.
It's a sports manga with girls using their butt and ass to fight. And the action is as good as a fighting shonen manga, actually stellar.
It feels like a parody of fighting shonen in some aspects. Even the main lead is just an oblivious girl with a feeling to Keijo.
Also there are some really cool special moves like Tittihypnosis and Ass Vacuum Wave.
The characters are also amazing and everyone goes through some interesting arcs unlike in the anime. Not to say the anime is better but it didn't fully adapt the story yet.
My favorite is Kusakai Mio. The beautiful lesbian who is

horny for everyone and knows what girls like. This comes into play in fights too which is honestly sick explaining why she is such a prodigy. Nobody could beat her honestly. She is erotic and cool.
She made even me fall in love with her.
It is a must read for weebs that like hot girls, cute girls, action and all that jazz.

This anime is completely stupid, and I love it.
It's just a sport anime about girls fighting with Boobs and Ass but the fights are insanely engaging. It feels like I am actually watching a Fighting Shonen like anime.
There are even signature moves like the Vacuum Ass Cannon.
There are one on one matches. There are allout fights and there are team battles. The abilities are sick each girl has (except a few but we don't talk about them).
There is also a lot of strategy involved like when in a team battle someone uses her boobs to catch an opponent so another one can knock her out
...
with her ass.
It sounds stupid but when you see it it looks hella badass, especially how they perform on various battle stages.
The characters are also amazing.
Nozomi is your average stupid main character with a good feeling for fighting like a shonen protagonist.
Miyata is a proxy rival and has a struggle with what people expect from her and what she wants.
Others don't have many deep struggles but they are still amazing to see in how they interact and fight alongside each other.
My favorite character I didn't expect to like is Kusakai Mio. The beautiful lesbian who is horny for everyone and knows what girls like very much. This comes into play in fights too which is honestly sick explaining why she is such a prodigy. Nobody could beat her honestly. She is erotic and cool.
Training arcs aren't to be taken serious but I very much enjoyed them too.
I can highly recommend it to my fellow weebs. Get good action and relief some stress down there.

Out of the shows where the MC appears in a room with a naked girl and starts a harem after beating that girl, this is probably the best.
The main character is no beta but a badass trying to deal with the situation like a boss. Probably my favorite harem lead.
The battles are also really cool and the infodumbing at the start is done much better than any other anime of that kind.
You also have far more good waifu selection like in any harem. And the show does make some fun of your average cliches making it that more spicy.

gets interested and respects the MC also makes more sense. And also why she would fall for him. He has some sick ass abs after all.
I think even females would enjoy this male fantasy. Definitively recommended :D
