The only thing really good about the movie are the songs and sometimes the art. The story is shallow, and often doesn't make sense. It feels like different ideas were mixed together, but there is no depth or background information to any of two worlds, especially the online one. Unfortunately, it is definitely overhyped.
I really appreciate the music, but other than that it's really quite mediocre.

Plot
"It was all for nothing" This quote from 91 Days sums up the overall story. The protagonist's motive lacked in emotional depth, even though it was a classic one of getting revenge. The plot overall was complex, especially with the different family feuds, which was quite interesting. So although the plot would have been quite interesting, for me personally it lacked the emotional side which allows the viewer to immerse himself in story. Art I really liked the art. The style was nice to watch, especially the people. The landscape tended to be a bit unrealistic concerning perspectives. ...

The main idea with the light/darkness theme was okay but there was very little development. It could have been much more complex and diverse.
The characters didn't have a real purpose or were undertaken random changes. Especially the main character Akira lacked a certain motivation for why he was fighting and randomly accepted things as they are, or at least only questioned things for a short time. Strange was the other side to Shirogane, which was introduced in the center of the story but it was never really picked up again. There weren't any significant development within any of the characters (maybe except for one). ... |
