Both have similar genres: romance, slice of life and drama. Though it doesn't really contain comedy, both anime have a similar theme and aspect of reality and how the real world is out there. In addition to this, both show an aspect of relationships and realistic situations along with realistic reactions to these situations. In my opinion, both demonstrate how we are "human." For example, for Sakurasou No Pet Na Kanojo, we see the building relationships along with the troubles of trying to maintain it. We see how human they are through their emotions and actions towards certain situations, as well as the way they think, feel and react. As for White Album, it simply shows how as human as we are, we can't always act sane and calm about every situation be it good or bad, nobody could. As humans, we react to situations differently, whereas in this anime it shows how cruel we can be due to jealousy and hate. Therefore, I suggest to watch White Album as it also has heart melting moments along with tear jerking moments as well.
