Some people will say this is hentai. It's not. Per MAL, its genre is listed as erotica. And for good reason. Simply put, the series doesn't show genitalia, that's it. Yes it shows sex and has nudity in it but that's not enough to label something as hentai, otherwise shows like Labyrinth Isekai and Redo of Healer would have been given the hentai label as well. I guess you could call it softcore pornography but that only proves this show hasn't crossed the line into hardcore pornography. Hence, not hentai.
Semantics aside, what's this show about? In a nutshell this show is pretty much a
...
glorified ad for a Japanese alcoholic beverage called Strong Zero. I don't drink alcohol nor will this show ever make me want to drink it but I do have to commend it for giving us a short, sexy and simple show about a lucky university student who manages to bang an assortment of gorgeous women. Having read the source material for this anime, the only thing these women have in common is that they end up consuming tons of alcohol and that they're all married.
But wait you might ask, doesn't that make this NTR? Technically it does since NTR basically boils down to adultery. Some people try to make the term more complex than it should but the gist of the term is that NTR is essentially cheating/infidelity/etc. Now, if that's not your thing you should move on and watch more wholesome anime instead of whining like one of those losers you find at the comments section over on Nhentai whenever some NTR doujin shows up. Save yourself (and us) the headache.
Personally, I've never had a problem with the concept of NTR in hentai. It's fiction anyways, nobody is actually getting cheated on and if by some chance you get angry over a bunch of drawings having fictional sex then you should probably touch grass or get some mental help. Nobody in their right mind would take such things seriously. My only problem with NTR is when they make the male lead some fat, disgusting, ugly guy or some tiny underaged boy. Just like Sony's failed multimillion dollar game Concord, no one wants to watch ugly characters especially when said characters get naked on screen.
Fortunately for you dear viewer, the male lead is neither a UB nor is he a shota. He's actually a decent looking guy, someone I can see being attractive to women. And as for the women, again having read the manga this is adapting, they're all beautiful though I'm not particularly fond of one of the women for being, let's just say, too short on something (if you know you know). But that's just me and my own personal taste.
One other thing that I actually think works to the advantage of this series is it being short (first episode is less than 5 minutes long, though I heard there's an extended version of this show out there). With how many anime are coming out every season, anime like this are nice because it won't take you that long to finish an episode and then you can get back to more standard anime. Animation wise, I can at least say it's not Queen Bee levels of animation. It's decent. The sex scene is erotic enough though a bit too short for my taste. The voice acting is also passable enough though I was hoping that the MC's aunt would sound a bit more mature. Overall, I don't really have any gripes with the show. It's a short series about a guy getting lucky and scoring with a bunch of beautiful married women while getting drunk. Perfect for people who don't have the time to add another full length anime to their belt and who wants to see some decently animated sexy scenes.

Sometimes, simplicity is the best. Take Demon Slayer for example. Does it have one of the most deep and complex stories with intricate and relatable characters? No, it does not. But what it has, is a simple good vs. evil story that most people would enjoy. It might not have the most well developed characters, but it had characters that people can have fun with and go along for the ride. If anything, it is that simplicity that has allowed it to surpass, in terms of popularity and cultural impact, other manga/anime that have more complicated stories like Attack on Titan, Berserk, or Vinland Saga.
...
The same can be said of Shikimori isn't just a cutie. As much as I love the manga, I will admit that it doesn't do anything original. Then again, most, if not all manga don't do anything original. And that's ok. It has characters that aren't just cute (heh), but also sweet and lovable. Whether that be our main couple, the titular cutie Shikimori and her clumsy but lovable boyfriend Izumi, or their group of friends, the reliable Bakubro, I mean Inuzuka, the sporty Nekozaki, or the hilariously deadpan Hachimitsu. All of them are charming in their simple ways. Watching them all interact is a treat for anyone out there looking for lots of fluff in their manga.
The story itself is relatively straightforward. At first, it focuses on Shikimori making sure that Izumi doesn't die due to his bad luck, but it later moves on to exploring the main couple's relationship, their relationship with their friends and family, their school life, as well their plans for later on in life. Despite being tagged as a comedy and a romance, this series is better off seen as a slice of life with elements of romance and comedy, that later explores the growth of these characters as they move through their high school lives.
The art itself is also simple yet there is beauty in the manga's simple art. I'm no art expert but the simple designs of the manga makes the manga look more wholesome and soothing while reading it. It also makes the comedic elements stand out when the manga does try to be a bit funny.
TLDR: Looking for complex storytelling? Go somewhere else. Looking to overdose on simple wholesome fluff? You've come to the right place.

I'm not into long reviews so like this show, I'll keep this review simple and sweet. Oh, and spoiler free.
If you want to be reminded how maidenless you are and want to commit sudoku by giving yourself diabetes, watch this show. It's a simple, very sweet, very wholesome story about Izumi and Shikimori, two adorable characters who, unlike many romcom couples, are already in a relationship.
Also unlike many romcoms, there isn't that much drama and conflict. Don't like love triangles and misunderstandings? This show is the one for you. I will say though, that the show is pretty slow and stress-free so if you're not
...
into these kinds of shows, I suggest romcoms such as Kaguya-sama and Rikei ga koi. If you are though, then enjoy.
Now for the score, I was going to just give this show a 7 but Doga Kobo really brought their A game with the stellar art and animation, couple that with the wonderful OP and ED made me bump the score up to an 8. Regarding the OP and ED, while they might not be the number 1 OP and ED of Spring 2022 (those titles belong to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Bibitto Love respectively) they were catchy enough that it made watching the OP and ED a pleasant experience every episode.

If you're looking for a show with a masterful story and well written characters, go watch something else like Odd Taxi or Steins;Gate but if you're like me and you've always had an interest in classical music and want to see an action packed show with stellar art and animation featuring cute and sexy anime girls that are personified versions of classical musical pieces, then this show, Takt Op. Destiny, will entertain you at the very least.
Takt Op. Destiny serves as a prequel to a future mobile game Bandai Namco is currently developing so in terms of story, don't expect everything to be tightly resolved.
...
Still, the plot of the show was decent enough and the ending did leave me wanting to find out more about what happens after the events of the show. If the purpose of a show like this is to advertise their upcoming game, well it got me, I'll give it that. I might just download the game when it comes out just to see what happens next.
The characters here aren't the best but they also aren't the worst characters to have graced the anime medium. Our main protagonist, Takt Asahina, might seem irritating what with his obsession with music but he at the very least does grow during the course of the series. Same goes for the other main characters in the show. If you want to see a truly horrible character, go watch Rent A Girlfriend. The main character here is only slightly annoying, Rent A GF's main character on the other hand exudes massive levels of cringe that it makes you want to shoot yourself rather than watch another second of him.
As for the pros of this show. Being animated by two powerhouses, Studio Madhouse and Studio Mappa, Takt Op. Destiny is just beautiful to look at and the animation of its fights are very well done. It's not Demon Slayer level of animation but this show is still a visual treat. If you're looking for an enjoyable anime, one to watch with some popcorn or some snacks, I highly recommend Takt Op. Destiny.
