I waanna see some REVENGE! ISNT THAT THE POINT OF THIS SHOW! Yup, revenge, good revenge, revenge porn. Revenge always makes me smile, watching the characters get what deserve while they get tortured...
The problem is this show has like multi-personality disorder, I want to be good show, PLOT DEVELOPMENT TIME. Oh wow the plot is developing, then the show is like, hello viewer, with the short attention span, here some titties and okay and a few minutes of your time is wasted.
Make up your fkcing mind, they could have at least bothered to make the meaningless sex scenes meaningful but no, mc just
...
goes, hey let's fuck, ok. Thanks for wasting my time!
Even if you compare it to a hentai, meh it did not got me excited, maybe because in a hentai the direction is already clear to get the viewer excited?
So yeah, the direction is really poor. Huge f*cking disappointment.

First off, there will be moaning. In fact the anime even starts out with it, letting you know what you'e gonna get. The moaning is ehhh alright but it is juxtaposed with a doctor seriously examining his patient. This will be a recurrent theme and is mostly used as ammunition for the audience to laugh. If it ain't funny for you, you might not want to watch this.
The waifus, basically the whole point of watching this show. eh ok. Pretty generic. Characters are paper thin except for a few characters, but the pacing really made their character development felt rushed. So not really the greatest.
...
Lamia is ok tho.
Sound is great. Moaning is ok. Won't get me off tho, but fits well with the humour aspect.
Pretty enjoyable show if you just want to chill

From the synopsis, one would assume that one would be thrust in a world with the heavy presence of Japanese folklore. It will be a romp where our protags would be interacting with demons/yokai and many other supernatural beings, right? Well, the story plays to that, to my delight. Looking at the Youkai and how they interact with the world around them is an interesting premise. But that was only in the few episodes before the whole story was sucked into a rather long arc. I felt that some of the episodes could be summarized with a simple line or two instead of dragging it
...
out into a full episode, which happens a few times. The demons and yokai were completely ignored turning the arc into a generic supernatural mystery story, what made the story unique was completely forgotten, which was disappointing. It could have been much better if the anime played to its strengths in what made the story unique.
The art is mediocre. Nothing makes it stand out with other modern anime, thus I’ll just say it is as decent as any other average anime...
The opening music is amazing, I love the banging guitars at the start throughout the song. The jazzy ending was so delicious to the ears. I like sound effects all fit well, watching it I never had thoughts like that seemed out of place. It was pretty immersive.
There is a lot of dialogue. To be fair, it is a mystery anime. So dialogue is crucial. But the dialogue flashes out the characters. What seemed like gibberish is a reflection of the character’s personality. While the dialogue was confusing to me at first, taking some time to reflect after finishing the anime, the dialogue is still gibberish. But what if it was meant to be gibberish? The characters’ personality isn’t very straightforward, and there’s a lot of subtexts that one can interpret it one way or another. Characters aren’t paper-thin, and there’s more to them than meets the eye. To be fair though, characters can still be classified with a generic character mould, so the character’s are decent.
The anime hooks you in with its premise, but the arc dragged things out, throwing the shtick of the anime out of the window. The arc should have been shortened and more emphasis should have been given to the episodic youkai incidents. The anime is an enjoyable watch, but it’s just disappointing that it could have been so much better.

High school fleet is an anime about girls in high school duking it out with naval warships in 1 vs 1 battles. The main protagonists pilots a destroyer, and they will face enemies of larger ship classes as the series progresses, making one go wtf sometimes with the bravery of our main protags.
Story:
The story kicks off with much tension sucking one into the story with some interesting naval facts intertwined in it. Tidbits like supplies, naval armaments, the boilers as well as the observational language used will be most interesting to ww1 - ww2 naval warfare fans. Some notable warships would make their appearances, so
...
famous that they also appear in World of Warships. More fanservice for naval historian fans. Yet the tension is lost halfway through the series in slice of life episodes which were unpleasant to stomach. It picks up the pace at the end making the trudge through the slice of episodes well worth it.
Art:
Character movements are fluid and expressive, which is palatable. That is to say the art is enjoyable. But that’s not the main focus isn’t it? It’s the warships. They are gorgeous, the rigging, armaments and overall design is bloody gorgeous. Looks of focus is put into it, the attention to detail is amazing. It makes you just go woah looking at the ships.
Sound:
The voice actors convey the character’s emotions well, their personalities working well with the voices given. But the best part was the sound of the naval armaments! It sounded really realistic and was very good asmr to relax to. The fscchhww of the torpedoes, the BOOM of the naval guns. And the it sounded different, the bigger the guns, the louder the sound gets and different the sound gets. I can’t put it into words but it just sounds like a bigger gun. The sound of the torpedoes travelling in the sea just sounds so right and realistic. So yeah sound is great.
Character:
Characters brought nothing new to the table. Individually, they can be found in other animes, the pairing up of the characters together was nothing refreshing and could also be found in other animes. The anime just dumps like 30 over characters in your face and you are expected to familiarise yourself with them. Some of them stood out with some development through the series, but the rest were left to linger in the back and be forgotten. The anime will pull off some drama between some characters that you are supposed to be familiar with but you will be lost and wonder where did that came from? But those are once in a blue moon occurrences. The characters are nothing special, but the thing that made them unique is the reason why they chose to serve in the navy instead of doing something else. That would be one of the few things that made the characters stand out. Characters? Meh.
Enjoyment:
As mentioned in the story section of the review, the first few episodes caught my interest. But the slice of life blew my enjoyment out of the water. But as soon as that was done with, the payoff with the ending made this anime pretty memorable. One can derive pleasure from viewing this anime, but if one seeks to focus on the action, skipping the slice of life episodes would be great.
Overall:
As a naval warfare nerd, it was a fun watch seeing the warships duke it out with one another. Facts about naval warfare also intertwined really well with the story. It’s a fun watch.
