Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko (in short Henneko) is a anime where Yokodera Yoto, male protagonist, and Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, one of the heroine(?!), makes wishes to the Stony cat statue, which has a rumor of being able to grant wishes when given a offering. Yoto wishes to get rid of his habit of lying and his facade, and Tsukiko wishes her true feeling not show so easily anymore.
The entire story of Henneko revolves around Yoto solving the troubles that the cat statue causes from the wishes that the main characters made to it (if you seen the up to ep 7, you will know
...
what I'm talking about). So without further a do, let's get into the characters.
Character Explanation:
Yokodera Yoto: the Hentai Ouji of the story. 24/7, Yoto always thinks about perverted stuffs, but he shows exceptional obsession towards school swimsuits (this is why he is in the track team). His raison d'être is hentai. However, people around misunderstands him, thinking that he is a honest, hard working man. After making his wish, Yoto is unleashed; his perverted thoughts does not end as a thought, but becomes words and actions, which ultimately makes him called the Hentai(Perverted) Ouji(Prince). Yoto later gets his facade back, but soon after that, gets rid of his feeling of shame. Yoto is a great fan of Oscar Wilde, making quite a reference of Wilde's works. Aside of Oscar Wilde, Yoto is quite a reader, and knowledgable of not only sexual/perverted areas, but also with common sense and academic. But during usual, Yoto tries his best to harass Tsukiko and Azuki Azusa, which ends up him being kicked to the face or be threatened of making him to live in prison for rest of his life. Yoto and Tsukiko and Tsutsukakushi family met in the past, however Yoto doesn't seem to remember it well (a bit cloudy).
Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko: the Warawanai Neko of the story. Cuteness itself. Just, Cute. She is a underclassman of Yoto. Tsukiko wishes to be more adult-like, which lead for her to wish for her feeling not to show so easily anymore (this is Tsukiko's image of an adult). Tsukiko's personality is like that of a "Cat", as Yoto says. After losing her expressions (due to her wish), her habit of showing her embarrassment is her touching her side-tail. Tsukiko is quite a eater, or rather, a food champion; she loves eating, cooking foods, but for the most, loves watching people eating her food. Tsukiko often refers Yoto as "Hentai-san" and "Senpai" and frequently threatens Yoto by telling him that she will call the police and have him arrested. Tsukiko met with Yoto before she entered high school, which Yoto doesn't remember, and from then, she might have fallen for him(smirk).
Azuki Azusa: If Tsukiko is the cat, then Azuki Azusa is the puppy. She is in the same grade as Yoto, and the girl that gained the facade that Yoto gave away to the stony cat statue. With her beauty, many boys in the school confess love to her, and due to the facade that she has, Azuki Azusa rejects them in a harsh stinging way which for male students feels as if it is a prize from the queen (people refers this act as Azuki Azusa's Prize Time). As said earlier, Azuki Azusa is the "Puppy" and Tsukiko is the cat; they often face off each other because of Yoto, but later becomes BFF because of Azuki Azusa's incident (ep 2~3). Azuki Azusa is quite a important character of the story, next to Tsukiko. Azuki Azusa refers Yoto as her "pet" but in real, she is more like the pet of her being obsessively all over Yoto all the time(smirk).
Tsutsukakushi Tsukushi: the Steel Queen of the story and older sister of Tsukiko. Through out the story, Yoto refers Tsukushi as Queen of Steel, or Steel Queen; the name came from Tsukushi's personality of being stubborn like steel and expressionless like a inanimate object. She is the president of the school track team and is very passionate towards it. Tsukushi is, even more than track, very passionate and all over Tsukiko; she wants to marry Tsukiko. Steel Queen is, however, very stupid or more like a child, lacking common knowledge of living in the world. Tsukushi believes that Yoto is a diligent passionate track runner like her, and give her utmost trust to him, even wanting him to success the president of track team. Because of her childish acts, she gets involved with most of the troubles regarding the Stony Cat Statue. Tsukushi is also referred as a "Lion" because of her noble and outgoing actions that she makes.
Emanuela Pollarola(Emi): She is called the 100% girl, and the reason is that her smile is pure 100%, as Yoto "believes". Emi in past, met with Yoto while she was in Japan. However, she had to go back to Italia, and makes a promise with Yoto for that Yoto will write hand written letters to her even when she goes back. Emi has a beautiful voice and sings like an angel; she was in the church quoir while she was in Japan. When she came back to Japan, Yoto had no idea who she was, which "pissed her off." Yoto believes that Emi is a cute, innocent girl until he remembers her true nature, a devilish angel that is. She looks like a rabbit or a "Bunny". She often says "Pumpkin" when she is mad, pissed, or badmouthing Yoto.
That was quite a explanation, or rather a spoiler (especially for Emi), but in summary, all the girls are all over Yokodera Yoto. So in short, this is story of Perverted Prince and a Stony Cat, Tsundere Puppy, Childish Lion, and Devilish tsundere Bunny.
About seiyuu, absolute gorgeous lineup: Kaji Yuki for Yokodera Yoto, Ogura Yui for Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, Ishihara Kaori for Azuki Azusa, Tamura Yukari for Tsutsukakushi Tsukushi, and Terakawa Ayumi for Emi. THANK YOU FOR HAVING OGURA YUI FOR TSUKIKO!!!!!!
Tamura Yukari sang the opening theme "Fantastic Future", which is very upbeat and very addictive. Ogura Yui sang the ending theme "Baby Sweet Berry Love" which drew two different Tsukikos, one before she made her wish and one after becoming "Stony". Just absolute cuteness.
Overall, Henneko is a typical school romance love comedy anime, but full of Cuteness and story.
Ogura Yui, Henneko Forever.

You looking for a legit mecha anime? Wrong place to be then.
Just kidding, Suisei no Gargantia is an anime not only mecha, but love and comedy and a the funky stuffs. NO
Suisei no Gargantia is where...well synopsis explains it well enough for new comers so let get into review. This anime requires somewhat a understanding; I'm not saying it's hard to understand like as if the time line is jumping from 1970s to 1700s, then to 1800s and back to 1900s like Bac**no!! The character set up is quite something so lets jump right into it
Character explanation
Ledo: Main character of the story. While returning to
...
the ship after "the mission" fails, Ledo was thrown into other space (or possible galaxy), and shipwrecks into Gargantia, Earth. Ledo, not being able to communicate (different language) with the people Gargantia, abducts Amy and runs, buying time for his machine caliber, Chamber, to analyze where this place is and the language these people were speaking. He finds out that this place is Earth, and with the current situation (abduction and weapon possession), Ledo is held captive by the Gargantia. Later when the "Pirates" attacked the crew of Gargantia, Ledo and Chamber exterminated the pirates, and then protected Gargantia from the future revenge attack by the Pirates, which ultimately made him gain trust to the people of Gargantia. Even while Ledo is living Gargantia, he only thinks about returning to Galactic Alliance and exterminate Hideauze. Ledo is just a pure solider like; he talks like a solider, doesn't know anything about living in leisure or relaxing. He is very stubborn and fixated when it comes to enemy (pirates, Hideauze, etc.). Ledo can't think gray; he only answers in black or white.
Amy: Main heroine of the story. She works as a postal deliverer in Gargantia. She is the first person that has come in contact with Ledo(during the abduction). She is not hostile but rather amicable towards Ledo, even though she was abducted and pointed gun by him. Amy tries her best to change Ledo's thought that there can't be coexistence between Humanity and Hideauze. Amy's personality is very cheerful, friendly, and warm hearted, but also emotional (not in a hysteric way).
Chamber: Machine Caliber of Ledo. the Robot that you have been waiting for. Chamber becomes quite useful; until Ledo was capable of speaking Gargantian Language, Chamber acted as the translator for Ledo and Gargantia. With its overwhelming over-technology it possesses, Chamber helps Gargantia by moving supply cargos, catching massive amount of fish at once, and most importantly, the protection of people of Gargantia. Chamber is an AI (Automative Intelligence), so it can act by itself however with the permission of Ledo.
There are many other supporting characters in this anime, which I can't possibly say every single one of them since it will the a complete spoiler from then. For this anime, however, understanding of not only the main characters, but the supporting characters is needed to enjoy this anime to it's full potential. Gargantia itself features quite a colorful, vivid background and absolutely fantastic drawings for starry skies. For opening theme, Chihara Minori(sama) sung "Kono Sekai wa Bokura o Matte Itta", which is just...great.
Whoever watching or planning to watch Suisei no Gargantia must know one thing: Robot related anime can be this peaceful and soothing to watch.
So If you are looking for something with a new taste, Suisei no Gargantia should be listed as one of your choices.

If you are here, it means either you are a big fan of Nishio Ishin, or saw the anime Bakemonogatari and fall in love with it. Monogatari series, as expected from Nishio Ishin, is full of Japanese word plays and definition intonation; what I mean is it is hard to understand from just reading it once. From here and now will be a review of the book, not the anime.
Before getting into review and "a bit" of spoilers, here is the timeline of the story
Kizumonogatari -> Nekomonogatari Kuro -> Bakemonogatari -> Nisemonogatari
Now let's start this.
Bakemonogatari:
Consist of different girls possessed by different Kai'i(Oddity or strangeness). Senjogahara
...
Hitagi possessed by a Crab, Kanbaru Suruga possessed by a Monkey, Hachikuji Mayoi possessed by a Snail, Sengoku Nadeko possessed by a Snake, and Hanekawa Tsubasa (re)possessed by a Cat. Each had a reason to why and how they where possessed to these oddities and you can find that out by reading the novel or already know from the anime. Araragi Koyomi basically helps these young ladies to remove these oddities from them, and the point is he only "helps", not actually "saves" them. Bakemonogatari, as it's name is a collection of stories(monogatari) of monsters, or oddities(Bakemono).
Kizumonogatari:
Koyomi Vamp. Yes, why wouldn't have our dear main male character not be possessed by a oddity? Araragi Koyomi, one day, meets a Vampire, Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, on the way back to his home. Kiss-Shot was heavily injured, and Koyomi gives up all his blood to her to save her, and from this, Kiss-Shot turns Koyomi into a Vampire. Kizumonogatari is the "Beginning" of the all the monogatari series. The point to pay attention to this story is not only thrilling battle scenes or the beauty of Kiss-Shot, but more of our dear almighty class-representative, Hanekawa Tsubasa. Kizumonogatari is a story where one and others hurt each other creating scars (Kizu) to each other.
Nisemonogatari:
There is a real and there is a fake imposter of that real. Now, which one has the more value?
Nisemonogatari features the story of Araragi Koyomi's cute little sisters, Araragi Karen and Tsukihi, the Fire Sisters. "Fire" is one feature to keep in mind for Nisemonogatari and Nekomongatari Shiro, but for Nisemonogatari, fire comes from the name of Karen and Tsukihi (Ren = fire, hi = fire). Karen is self-proclaimed "Moreu Onna" (Burning women), which she meant to explain her extraordinary passion towards everything. Tsukihi, is not passionate, but has a personality of that of a fire, hysteric. Main point of the story to pay a close attention is the Kaiki Deishu's logic towards fake and false. We can even say that Kaiki is the main character of the story, rather than Karen and Tsukihi. Nisemonogatari is a story where what can be called fake/imposter (Nise) and the true value of the world.
Nekomonogatari Kuro:
The talk of there being no such thing as right, is right.
Nekomonogatari Kuro is, yes a story of a cat(neko), but it's not that cute at all, or rather, a bit gruesome; Nekomonogatari Kuro and even go par with the Suruga Monkey from Bakemonogatari. The story takes place in between the Kizu and Bake, and is about Hanekawa Tsubasa and her meeting with a Cat, and more about the family of Hanekawa. Beginning starts with Koyomi's confession to Tsukihi that he can't stop thinking about Hanekawa's breasts, comedy, and then rapidly turns into serious story. Nekomonogatari Kuro, in another way to say it, Tsubasa Family, is about Hanekawa Tsubasa and her life in her family. The reason why Kuro (black) is added to it, you can find it out by yourself. Main point to pay attention to this story is the family issue, and the Oshino Meme's logic and Araragi Koyomi's logic towards people, or more about Hanekawa Tsubasa.
Nishio Ishin thank you for publishing books in out of time line for sakes. But still, I loved it, especially Nisemono and Nekomono Kuro. For people who are not a great fan of reading too much words, or not interested in beauty of Kanji and their true meanings, I really do not recommend any of Nishio Ishin's novel, but for the rest, Monogatari series is the best to know Nishio Ishin's writing style.
ps. All of them are available as anime so if you are confused or auditory learner, then go watch it after/before. It will make more sense.

If you were looking for an harem, love comedy anime, voila Date A Live is the anime to watch.
But hold on, this anime is not only a typical cliché love comedy, but quite full of action and for some people, can be thought of as a bit bloody(?).
Itsuka Shido, the male protagonist, basically tries to save several extraterrestrial beings called "Spirits" by getting the spirits to accept (love) him and to do so, he goes on a "Date" with each and one of them; a typical galge story line. Up to now, it sound a love comedy, but here is what makes this anime called
...
Date "A Live". Spirits, when they appear in Earth causes a mass-area destruction, called spacequake, which can be big or small, but either way cause many casualties and more importantly, deaths. Even with spacequakes they are dangerous, but these Spirits have their personal weapon(s) and armor, called Angel and Astral Dress, which differs from Spirits to Spirits, but the fact is, it is "quite" dangerous. Itsuka Shido has to deal with not only one, but several of them, so good luck to our dear protagonist.
There is broadly three different divisions in this story. Ratatoskr, an organization founded in order to solve issues with Spirits and spacequakes through peaceful means (Dating). The organization is place in a floating arial ship called Fraxinus and from this ship, Shido gets assistance of how to increase the spirits' love parameter towards him (galge). AST(Anti-Spirits Team) is a special unit within Japan Self-Defense Force (Japan's Army) that uses military power to eliminate Spirits. Even with advanced technological weapons and equipments, however, the damage that they give to spirits is little. Finally, there is DEM (Deus Ex Machina) Industries, which is the one of the largest corporations in the world, which creates and develops weapons to go against the Spirits. They are rivals with Ratatoskr. AST utilizes the weapons created by DEM.
Character explanations
Itsuka Shido - male protagonist of the story. When young, he lost his memories, and the Itsuka family brought him in. Shido, because of being the only outsider of the family, lived a hikikomori life, full of despair, which made him able to observe other people's despair and sadness when looking at them. When he saw the first spirit, Tohka, he saw the despair within her, which made his determination of saving Spirits.
Yatogami Tohka - First Spirit that appears in the story. She was referred to as a "Princess" until Shido names her Tohka, just because the day that first encountered was April 10th (10th when read in Japanese is pronounced as "tohka"). In the beginning, she appears in her Astral Dress, firm and dignified, like a noble person. At first, she is skeptical and hostile towards Shido because when Tohka first appeared in Earth, she as attacked by AST. However, after Shido makes her fall in love with him, Tohka's personality somewhat changes into that of a loyal puppy. Her Angel(weapon) is called Sandalphon which is in a form of boardsword, but usually even without it, she can inflict quite a damage.
Tobiichi Origami - A member of AST, who has a inhuman hostility towards Spirits due to lost of her parents from a spacequake when young. She is not a very talkative person with cold personality but not with Shido. She is self-proclaimed lover (stalker) of Shido. Origami says that she as known Shido for a long time, but Shido doesn't remembers.
Itsuka Kotori - Foster sister of Shido, who is a human that earn the power of a Spirit. Kotori is the leader of Ratatoskr, supporting Shido with his date with Spirits. When she is wearing a Black Ribbon, her personality is a "tsun"; when wearing a "White" Ribbon, her personality is a "dere." All together, Itsuka Kotori is a Tsundere. There you go, end of explanation of her. Her Angel is called Camael, a battle-axe that is capable of changing shape to a cannon.
Yoshino/Yoshinon - Don't get confused, they are two different characters. Yoshino is the second Spirit that Shido meets and saves. She is referred as "Hermit" by the AST. Yoshino is the most nonaggressive Spirit that even when she is attacked by AST, she won't fight back. She is shy and VERY shy. Yoshinon is a rabbit hand puppet that Yoshino has on her left hand. Yoshino says that Yoshinon is her "ideal"; Yoshinon is complete opposite of Yoshino as in personality, which is why Yoshino admires this little puppet. Yoshino, however, when told that Yoshinon is a puppet and, especially loses Yoshinon, becomes ferocious and completely changes. Her Angel is Zadkiel, a giant rabbit that Yoshino summons and controls with her right hand. It breathes out freezing air that is capable of freezing the AST members. She is THE cuteness, period.
Tokisaki Kurumi - Third spirit that appears in the story, and the most brutal Spirit. Kurumi, without the spacequake, solely killed over 10,000 humans, and with her gothic lolita appearance, is called the "Nightmare." As can be inferred from her name, Tokisaki (time, bloom), she is able to control time. Her left eye has a clock face, with the clock hands moving in the opposite direction, representing her life. She suddenly appears in front of Shido by transferring into his school, and showing her interest to him. She is quite bold with her action, which causes Shido to be bewildered during his "mission." Mana repeatedly kills Kurumi, but fails due to Kurumi's Angel, Zafkiel's ability to control time.
Takamiya Mana - A temporary second lieutenant of AST, she works for DEM Industries. She is revealed to be the real sister of Shido, except the only proof she has is that she doesn't have any memories of past, just like Shido, and possesses a pendant with a picture showing a young boy and her standing close together. Her appearance is somewhat like the female version of Shido. She is renown for "killing" the Spirit.
There are many other characters that I haven't talked but these are the major characters that came up so far (ep 8). If I get into seiyuus, this is going to be too long, so for the seiyuu, let me say only one thing, Thank you for having Taketatsu Ayana voice act for Itsuka Kotori. Sweet Arms sung the opening theme "Date A Live" which when listening to the lyrics, you might be able to catch the basic flow of the story. The ending theme changes from episodes to episodes so that could be a point of enjoyment to watch to, but the best moment of the show is where the narrator in the beginning giving a brief preview of each episodes.
Overall, if you want to see a school battle love comedy show, Date A Live is what you would consider watching.
ps. Yoshino, the Best.
