This anime was a big surprise for me. I read the reviews saying to give it 20 eps until it gets good. It was more like 40, it was really hard to get through them, but I'm glad I stuck with it. In the end it gets crazy good.
The story starts slow and pointless, until about ep 20 when there is some action for about 6 eps. Then more filler until 40 or so. Then it is on after 40, stuff gets crazy, there are some serious power ups. Then it gets even crazier, and just when you thought it couldn't get any crazier,

One of my favorite anime of all time. It's definitely one of the anime you just can't stop watching. I told my brother about it and he finished the series in one sitting (with a nap partway through).
The characters and story are great. There aren't a whole lot of characters but they really get into the backstory and flesh each of them out very well. The prince going from little brat to cool guy happens very naturally and believably. The overall story is great, the different factions, with their differing opinions on how to deal with the impending crisis, is very believable. It isn't just ...

I can't believe I even finished this anime. I just kept thinking, it has to get better, it has to, right? Well it doesn't.
The plot had potential, with all of the different factions. Some conspiracy stuff going on which is always good. I like that it goes back in time and explains the history and backstories. The art and sound were fine. The main problem is the main character, Saya. Basically the entire series is her saying "I can't" and whining and being a big annoying baby. I can understand the first few episode/fights, yeah the chiropterans are big and scary. But this literally ... |
