Scoring centered around 5 as a good quality show absolutely worth your time and expanding from there, most shows fall into a 7 - 4 range which is still respectable, however rating may appear harsh for that reason. Here's what a given rating from me may entail:
10 - A Masterpiece, nothing out there has achieved this level of greatness before or since, this makes life worth
9 - the best of the best, staggeringly great, masterful at what it does
8 - outstanding, exceptional quality in multiple areas, amazing yet flawed
7 - absolutely gripping, exceptional quality in at least one area, a truly great show
6 - a good quality show, memorable, exceeds at what it does, great but flawed
5 - Solidly worth your time, a quality show, good but average or unmemorable
4 - a good show if you're on that wavelength, good but flawed, perhaps taste specific
3 - unremarkable, painfully average, good but deeply flawed
2 - overall meh, not really worth, go outside
1 - not worth, perhaps even bad, fatally flawed
Rules for nerds:
~One rating for one series, even if there are multiple seasons. (eg. Bakuman 1, Bakuman 2, Bakuman 3 will all get the same rating). True that different season vary in quality but I'll be looking at a complete piece of storytelling and how it is presented to us.
~Not going to bother rating movies/specials etc that are accepted as filler, especially from long running series. (eg. Dragon Ball films, One Piece films etc.) Includes Recap films.
~ Sequel series that change up the theme or focus of the show enough to have its own identity will be considered seperately (eg. JoJo parts, Naruto vs. Shippuden)
~Different versions of the same source material considered separate series, excludes recaps. (eg. Hunter X Hunter vs. Hunter X Hunter 2011)
~If I don't rate something I likely don't remember enough, but will likely comment to explain
~There are many things I;ve watched but don;t have them on my list, very difficult to back trough your life and remember eveyrthing. Will continue to add no linearly as I stumble upon on things I've seen
~My list, can change rules or break them anytime.
~ Just my opinions... therefore should be taken as complete and total, irrefutable fact. obvs.
