This was a bit hard to get into at first for 2 simple reasons: 1) typical vampire stories are rather boring. 2) annoying characters!! There's nothing worse when trying to enjoy an anime than 1 or 2 really annoying characters who are present more often than they should be.
The story really didn't get interesting until half way through. Like I said, it was the typical vampire story. I even began to wonder if everyone was going to let just accept things the way they were happening, but that's when it got interesting, as you'll see much later on

This series didn't seem to have much of a plot and aside from the superstitious aspect, has characters and art that remind me of Ouran/Host Club. (Doumeki being the strong silent type like Mori senpai and Watanuki being the annoying Tamaki senpai.) The characters are unusually lengthy in both anime.
The one part that kept me watching were the lessons taught by Ichihara. She's very knowledgeable, wise, and likes to drink a lot. XD This series is full of Eastern superstitions and interesting deities but the characters themselves (aside from Ichihara) span from downright annoying to needing more involvement in the series ... |
