I read once that this anime was made to convince people to read the manga…and ow boy it does just that.
The character development in this show is like no other. In just this one season you see several characters grow up, change viewpoints in life, struggle with loyalty issues and much, much more.

I was very much disappointed by this anime show.
Earlier I had read that it would do to the 'magical girl genre' what elfen lied had done to the 'guy finds cute girl genre'… Halfway through the show I most definably found that it did not. The story did not engage as I had hoped it would. I was not able to really relate to any of the characters which makes it hard to really feel for their struggles.
