Warning: I must be out of my mind when I typed this. However, I have read it again and it does make some sense. Therefore I will not rectify any of my statements. There might be some spoilers so do take that in mind before proceeding.
If you wanted to watch this show because Wikipedia wrote stuff like, "art of gambling" or "winner of the Kodansha Manga Award" or hell, even recommended by some people like its the best thing ever, just stop and back away.

Burai Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor is nothing but a story of games of pure luck and courage turned way too overly dramatic. It's filled with boring, cliche'd and cheesy "motivational" lines throughout the whole show, spoken by a hypocrite like a true hypocrite.
It's also a story of a man who fails to understand his own limit and his surrounding. Even after being lied and betrayed many times, he still trust people with his own life. Oh, yet another NAKAMA PAWA bullshit used by delusional mangaka. This stuff gets very old and very boring very fast.
The rich is still rich and the trash became, well... trashier. There's nothing fun in this. There's no intellectual aspect in any of the so-called "gambles". Every single aspect of this show was overly used without deep thoughts put into them.
I won't rate the sound and art, because they don't matter. People still watch Rick and Morty even with those kind of art style.
Now, I admit I may be upset by the stupid main character not winning, but it's more about him not evolving. 26 episodes isn't a little, it's a lot. A lot of stuff can be put in 26 episodes, but they decided to drag it out and ultimately made the show boring. So boring that I had to play with my phone while listening to the boring monologues.

This show is filled with many manly tears. And driven by greed and ego, the man refuses to admit defeat only to destroy himself. He then continues to say stuff like, "This is the last", "I've had enough of this", blablabla, yet he still let his greed to overpower him and lose everything.
Of course, you knew it was bound to happen judging from the flow of the story and how easily predicted the show is.

A great anime, pretty touching at times, and the tragedies, well... weren't as tragic as I thought it would be. There were supposed to be a lot of tear-jerking moments in this series, but since it's me, I just can't take them seriously. Nagisa is a weak and sometimes clumsy girl. Key was right to make her as the main heroine. She's someone who definitely needs a man with her, more than anyone else in the series would ever need. She was born physically weak, and always alone. that would definitely care for her. Someone like him may seem very pathetic at first, but if he dedicate himself to something, he definitely can do it.
Kyou and Kotomi are great candidates for him, but frankly, they just didn't suit Tomoya's character. Kyou is great, but she cares about Ryou too much, and given how much she loves Ryou, she definitely wouldn't want to get in her little sister's way. Well, Kyou isn't featured much in this series, so it's kind of hard to judge her. Kotomi, on the other hand, could be more than Tomoya's 'childhood friend'. But in her case, she's more worried about her own parents than Tomoya, and even though she really likes Tomoya, she just can't be the one. I don't know how to say it, but it'd be pretty awkward if she and Tomoya is together.
The series was great and all, art-wise, it's great. Soundtracks left a lot to desire though. Great usage of soundtracks, but I wish it had left more impact, especially on those 'tear-jerking moments'. I can't really feel them, I can't feel the soundtracks on those moments. It made me felt like something was missing, there's not enough impact to make the moment 'tear-jerking'. The comedies were kind of repetitive, but they were fine. It's not really a comedy story after all. They were good to fill those empty spaces inside the series though. The plot was well written, I really like how they had it going with Nagisa's weak character. She's dense, everyone around her isn't doing anything for her sake, it's obviously for Tomoya, but if we look at it from a different perspective, it's great. She's weak, she can't do much, yet she still managed to be the center of attention through all the effort she put forth and how she treats the other very kindly and gently, and became the center of attraction of Tomoya, the guy who all the girls yearn for. (What does this have to do with anything? I don't know, I just type whatever that comes out in my mind.)
The series was great, no time was wasted, no regrets.

Another World: Tomoyo Chapter. The ending was kind of touching, but to be honest, the first half of it felt kind of forced. More like, Tomoyo seemed to be out of character with how she is in the beginning of this OVA. She isn't like how I expected her to be. The Tomoyo that I had in mind is a gentle and diligent woman, but I never thought she would be like that, clinging to Tomoya like that, being very sweet and all. But that wasn't the kind of 'sweet' that I had in mind, to be honest, she doesn't seemed to how she should

Perhaps it's her line, her dialogue, but something about her is off in this one. But the ending was great, they managed to pull it off. By they, I mean those who wrote the ending, this is the kind of Tomoyo that I had in mind. A responsible, strong woman. Someone who would never back out, if it's for the sake of achieving her own goal, or wish. In this case, it'd be Tomoya. The way she say it, is very Tomoyo-like.
Tomoya, too, is a little out of character. To see him being like that with Tomoyo, is very awkward, because if you have watched the original series, it'd be kind of weird to see him like that. I don't think he's the one that would get himself very close to a girl, even if she's someone who he really loves. He's the one that would definitely be very embarrassed and shy to be alone with a girl. The first of this OVA made him looked like a pathetic, useless guy. We all know that isn't true, seeing how honest he is with everyone in the original series.
I can't really explain it myself, but if only Tomoyo isn't how she is in the first half of the OVA, it'd have been a really great episode. But still, I'm glad the ending turned out that way though. That's the kind of Tomoyo that I wanted to see. To make it simple, the first half of the OVA was a failure, but the ending was great.
Now, what I want to see next is a series with Tomoyo as the main heroine. Key made a game of it, so why not have a real series of it? I'm sure it'd be great, if they don't make Tomoyo too forced, that is.
