I started this manga from around chapter 72, right about where it picks up from the anime since I was first introduced to this series from the anime. Soon after I started reading, I fell in love with it. The romance was exceptional, the drama was enough to keep the story exciting. The pacing was right, the art was phenomenal, and you could see the main character develop along the way. I was ready to give this a solid 10 out of 10.
So why didn't I give it a 10? That's because the quality of the manga dropped off real fast around the 200th chapter
...
mark. The story really lost its magic. It almost felt as if drama was being conjured out of thin air, when the characters start to act differently than they usually would in the story. This, I feel is the mistake of most romantic drama. Unnecessary overexagerrated drama is created because the authors feel like the story is lacking. This is not at all what it should be. This is a romantic drama, not a pure drama story. Even if it did lack drama the viewers would still be satisfied with regular romance.
The worst part here is that its not just any drama being used cheaply. It's the classic trope of infinite love triangles. In the more recent chapters, a love triangle appears out of nowhere, and, without giving too much spoilers, the couple begins to doubt their love, partly instigated due to long distance. Because no relationship can ever work right? It's the kind of typical romance trope that makes you annoyed and want to kill yourself. At this point I'm not so sure about where the story is going. Perhaps our MC will end up alone?
That being said, it's not entirely bad. Only in recent chapters it started going downhill. If you do want to see it for yourself, just be warned, you are gonna be very annoyed, and not for good reason. Or hey, maybe my review was too vague for you. If so just shoot me a PM or something, I'll gladly explain it in a more detailed and slightly more spoiler-y way.
I will definitely come back to this series once more chapters have been released. Then I will write again to see how I feel about it.
