It was very disappointing
Ok this one has a lot of potential, have good animation, good voice acting, and a really amazing premise to use in comedy but the just dumped that in the trash in episode 4.

Episodes 1, 2 and 3 deserve a good 8,0

[MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD]

The anime starts with the classical air head [mapple] who becomes overpower without noticing. Ok, for me its fine, is a anime about cute girls doing cute things.

Mapple gains a lot of power and that make a good comedy scenes in episodes 1 and 2.
... .
THEN.... they start to take this mmorpg world too serious, they nerf some of her powers adding armor penetration and a number of times she can cast some skills per day. That was amazing because connect with us [mmorpg players]. You know, the only thing in this anime that can connect with the viewer is the mmorpg world, everything else is generic [for example: the two friends, one very skilled and other who have no skills that become rivals - reminds you some anime with ninjas or heroes in school?]
The fact that they care about give some sense of reality to the game show how good this anime could be.

And then came the 4 episode with a big BUT:
you see, at the point they take this vmmorpg world too serious this anime become something else than "cute girls doing cute things". At the beginning the fact she was an air head and become too strong, by doing nothing it was ok, because is a slice of life anime with only one purpose, make fun of mapple strength.
Unfortunately the creators make a poor choice changing the focus. When they create that bridge between the viewers and the world they lost the comedy point. Let me explain:
before I watched this anime without comparing with anything, but now, I pay attention for every single detail of the world, examples:
-there is no mana, cool down or ap scaling, so she can cast spells indefinitely, so why you put points in other status? She has no point in magic [or intelligence] but the hydra thing still does damage. Why the other girl do 2 different attacks? If mapple can cast hydra thing without cool down, she [other girl] who have points better distribute can do too. If there are skills that provide engage and disengage in battle and you don't need mana or cool down why do you need points in agility [mapple can cast the COVER skill for repositioning her]?
But the really down point for me is that before, she gains some ability/skill in the last critical moment and that's ok [cute girls doing cute things]. But now, its just silly, she gains some bullshit thing that makes her alive with 1 hp which is probably will use to defeat some boss [or that most powerful player]. There is no sense of danger, you know for sure she will win the battle because in the last second she will gain some skill. The anime will try to limit her in the next episodes but guess what, it will be pointless because she probably will have some item or skill that overlap the nerf.

It was an excellent comedy anime but it lost me, I dropped
THE ANIMATION VOICES AND OTHER THINGS CONTINUE AMAZING.

First things first:
1- Watch the anime then read the manga, otherwise you gonna be disappointed

Review:
I can define Kengan Ashura quoting comrade Dyatlov "not great, not terrible"
Is a good anime, if you like fights, violence, simple plot, metal sound track, good animation, ..., yeah you will have a good time watching.
But...
If you pay a close attention to some interactions /reactions in some scenes, you gonna noticed that it kinda miss something, and the answer is YES, they cut a few characters interactions that make few scenes actually make sense. "...And does it matters for the main plot?" No. ... "So why are you complaining?"
Because What make this a good anime/manga are the interactions of the main plot with the secondary characters, their fight styles, motivations, why they fight, why they became strong, why they follow that path.
"Yeah but who cares for them, they are there to be defeated for the main character"
It could be the case, IF it was not a TOURNAMENT, and that demands a lot of fights and each fight needs that the audience (us) cares about the fighters in order to cheers or hate one of them, otherwise it just be a waste of time screen.
"Dude they show some flashbacks during the fights"
Yes but eventually it doesn't work anymore, the audience [us] are not fool. In the manga the editor probably see that coming and ask for some minor interactions [beach chapter], here the direction/producer decide to ignore that, making some flashbacks become dull at certain point.
Score:
For me the first season was ok, i enjoy the fight scenes and the 3d doesn't make my eyes bleed [i am a 3d artist, so my point of view of 3d animation its kinda different from the regular audience]
This anime deserves a 7.75 but they cut the XAMÃ, so i'll give solid 7,0
