If the whole of Mushoku Tensei season 2 should be described with one word, it'd be uneventful.
The pace has definitely changed. Checking back, the second half of S1 contained the entire demon continent arc. Currently 17 episodes into season 2, there isn't much to even note.
There is no tension, the MC either has dropped or simply doesn't bother to pursue any of his previous goals. Adventuring has been nonexistent. There are very few unique locations or interesting events as the story is restricted to one peaceful city.
What adds to the slice of life feeling is just how convenient it has been for MC at
