So I'm a few years too late, but I've been binging on animes lately. Slowly getting into the groove again as it were. Anyway, found this gem of an anime called "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" and I definitely recommend it!
At first glance it sounds like a completely asinine anime, but it was a pleasant surpise. First the good points! This anime has one of the most realistic couples interaction I've seen possibly bar none. It has some stereotypes, but no character is a dense protagonist, nor are they shallow representation of certain character archetypes so popular in animes. All the characters

act like actual people and react to events like how you would expect an actual human being will react.
Second, its not just pure romance. It has a heavy sci-fi/supernatural esque side to it, but for me its not really the focus of the story and more of a medium for storytelling and expanding on the interaction between the cast. Nonetheless, this aspect of the story allows it some wiggle room to avoid being a typical romcom and adds its own flavor and uniqueness.
Third, is admittedly a bit shallow but by god the main cast are gorgeous! They have amazing facial features and their hair are so fluffy! I sometimes just stare at their faces as the characters talk to each other. LOL. The male MC's deadpan expression and sarcastic comebacks, together with the female leads responses were some of the more enjoyable parts of the show.
Fourth, the quality of the videos were also above average. Do not expact MAPPA level art. That said, its not really an action sequencce so it does not need to be that good. I believe it has just the right amount to not break immersion.
Its not perfect though. My biggest gripe is the final arc of the show. It was a bit contrived and did not have the same organic feel as the rest. The show started really strong only to end at a whimper. Truly unfortunate. It would have been better to end the season on the second to the last arc in my opinion.
Overall an enjoyable show and a must see. A good example of a brave story not afraid to break steroetypes and walk their own path.
