Naturally, the first thing that springs to mind upon hearing the title A romantic anime series called Seishun Buta Yarou heavily explores the characters' experiences with puberty syndrome and other paranormal happenings. This sequel does not have puberty syndrome as its central conflict, despite sharing the same title.

As a result, this movie diverges significantly from the first series, with a lighter plot in the anime. Even so, the story in this movie is engaging and heartwarming. In addition, the anime is flavored with a hint of romance due to Sakuta and Mai's close relationship.

When Sakuta and Mai work together as Kaede's support system, the audience ... can become deeply moved. Like parents who raise and nurture a child, Kaede's elder siblings and acquaintances provided her with exceptional material and moral support. Sakuta and Mai accompany Kaede to school and when she leaves the house. It wasn't as simple as it seemed to leave the room, though.

This movie does a good job of portraying the struggles of a former self-isolated person, or hikikomori. How an ex-hikikomori attempts to make conversation with new people. How a former hikikomori deals with his past trauma. Through this film, all of this is precisely and clearly explained.

In addition, there are many moral lessons in the Seishun Buta Yarou series. We appear to be reminded via Kaede's struggle that happiness originates within us, not from other people. It is a good deed that helps for others. But in order to avoid forcing ourselves, we should be conscious of our own abilities.

I thought the movie ended a little too quickly, though. We still are unable to view Kaede's new school life, even though in the end she was able to settle for her stance. As a result, we are unable to accurately measure Kaede's developmental progress.

Sousou no Frieren departs from several fantasy work clichés by focusing on a post-disaster theme. This is a result of the story in this work no longer placing as much emphasis on finishing tasks or vanquishing foes. Even though it's stressed here, I think traveling and discovering new places is essential to Frieren's (the main character's) personal growth.

With a serene environment, Sousou no Frieren stops concentrating on vanquishing formidable foes. Instead, it describes how Frieren was able to comprehend others, particularly his fallen comrades. making someone more sensitive to emotions after they were previously indifferent.

This unconventional formula undoubtedly carries a great deal of risk because ... it could result in a story that is repetitive and boring. But as you keep reading, the unexpected turns of events in their adventures frequently pique your curiosity about the story in this manga. Considering how formulaic the plots of today's fantasy novels are, this is undoubtedly advantageous.

Aside from that, this manga avoids providing overly detailed or complex exposition to avoid confusing readers about the plot. Panels devoid of text are used to show the current mood, which is also appropriately communicated. makes the narrative seem to flow even though its plot is back and forth.

Sousou no Frieren is not without its flaws, though. Despite the fact that each of Frieren's three coworkers received their fair share, it didn't seem to be sufficient to have the same significant impact (feeling) on Frieren.
