This is a story that in review at least should be cut to the chase. This is a story about a fucked up family, in no way intended for children, and you probably shouldn't read it unless you have excess amounts of happy at the time.
It's told in a disorganized fashion, starting at the end and ending just before it. It starts off more autobiographical because it's the tale as Ian tells the author who's name escapes me, then as the story progresses it switches to the author's experiences and flashbacks of Ian updating the story; a good portion of the story consists of Ian
...
telling his story from the author's couch.
As short as it is it had a very strong impact on me and at more than a few moments nearly brought me to tears, but by far the part I enjoyed most was that it looks like nothing else I've ever read, almost western in style but somehow not at all, and clearly it looks nothing like the vast majority of other mangas. In itself the art is as simplified and obtuse as the story, and yet conveys things better than half the mangas I've read before it.
If I were an english teacher, or an art teacher for that mater, I would include this book in my course
