When I first watched it i thought this one was the remake and the other one was the original. How wromg was I. I noticed that this one has alot more emphasis on the harem aspect of the sereis alot ore thsn the magic or story. There is a story, just not one important to remember. I've watched the entirety of the Remake, and i honestly felt that the remake turned the Harem aspect to its side. In this one, Negi is having to worry about all of the girls flling in love with him. As for the remake, the Harem part is due to ... him having to have multipe partners. I noticed that in the original, one of the characters is a ghost, and (if i am not mistaken, since i haven't seen through to the end yet) basically is there as wasted space. In the Remake, she has more of an importance.
The intro to this one has basically a bunch of the girls in this series hitting a beach ball, with the picture changing to different sets of 3 girls. As for the other intro, you would just have to look it up. (1000% Sparkles -English Version recommend unless you don't care about if it is dub or sub, then it is just fine as it is)
To finish off this review, if i were to recommend you watch this, DO NOT watch the Remake BEFORE you watch this one! This will save you the trouble of being disappointed(wish i knew beforehand).
