This is one of the best shonen anime. Maybe this series doesn't catch your attention from the beginning, because the start is nothing special, just your typical shonen series, but sooner than later you'll see that you're completely absorbed by his world and amazing characters.

The best thing about this anime to me is the friendship between the two protagonists, Gon and Killua, and their evolution during the series. The friendship between these two is really heartwarming and it is difficult to not empathize with them. But all the important characters are great in it's own way, they all feel like humans and not NPCs made ... to advance the plot. All characters have their motivations and inner conflicts, even the side characters. And the antagonists are great too, specially Meruem who is one of the best antagonists this medium has to offer.

The series manages to keep you interested and does not become repetitive, since the setting, tone and atmosphere change completely in each saga, you'll be allways wanting to see what happens next. And a special mention to the Chimera Ant arc, wich is a masterpiece of art that everyone who loves anime should see once at least, even though my personal favourite is Yorknew arc.

In conclusion, this is one of the best shonen series out there. I could be talking on and on about every aspect of the series, but this is all I need to say to recommend this. Everyone should give this series a chance, It's one of those series that stays with you in your heart, and you'll always remember it for all the great moments it gave you. Truly a gem.
