Have you ever seen an anime, that while not perfect grabs your attention and refuses to let go? That's not Oshi no Ko, at least not initially.
I read the first Chapter around when it first came out and it did nothing for me, I doubt I'm alone in that view. But because of a friend's recommendation I watched it. I watched the movie-length first episode and then I was hooked.
The series isn't perfect but what series is? It does, at points, feel a bit like "entertainment industry tourism" jumping from one aspect to another without much connection other than the protagonists motivations - Which admittedly
...
does feel more like an inciting incident than a continuous push.
But then the rest of the series makes this a high recommendation for me, some characters are sure, fairly generic but when they're polished to the level they are it's not a negative.
One aspect I liked was when it touched out how the internet interacts with actors, when you know that certain aspects are taken from real life it can feel mildly preachy but it also flourishes the characters out by its usage.
Trying to be spoiler free may have made that a little confusing.
I think another thing that adds to my rating is that, the 7.5 episode, while easily skippable, because it's a recap, it's not just a recap. While only here and there, the short snippets of interviews with the main two VAs was a nice spin that made it feel at least a little more worthwhile.
Truthfully I don't feel it deserves a 10, but a 9 feels too low, it's not perfect but it's as close as I think it can be.

Nodame Cantabile review (mild spoilers)
The Plot:
The plot is very weak because it's like picking up a comic where Batman is fighting the Joker and that's it, we know that Batman wants to stop the Joker and put him in Arkham but we don't know the full story and it's a little weak on it's own.
What I Like:
-The Animation, the animation is very good, I don't what to say other than "I like it"
-The Use of Classical, sounds weird I know but hear me out, instead of making their own fully original soundtrack, they used classical music for setting the tone, wether for comedy
...
or drama they use classical music which is good in an anime about classical music.
-How it Revolves Around an Orchestra, it revolves around a whole orchestra and classical music as a whole not just one or two instruments.
-Two Characters, I only really like Chiaki and Mine. Chiaki grew from someone who was really unlikable for the first 6 episodes to someone I actually like but when he slips up, while realistic, makes him slightly less likable and Mine was enjoyable since the 3rd episode.
-The Sound, the whole sound design in general is very good.
What I Don't Like:
-The Stills, the animation is good but underused, in the orchestra performances they use stills, it gets better in the later eps but I still think the amount of stills are a problem.
-Most Characters, besides Chiaki and Mine, all the other characters are unlikable or annoying. Nodame started to get development at ep 15 but she is ultimately still annoying.
-The Plot, it isn't really that interesting, it doesn't really have a reason to keep me interested other than Chiaki who took 6 episodes to become likable. Chiaki does have a goal but even then it's not enough to keep me interested.
-How Much I Understand, because Nodame Cantabile is about conducting, it should teach me enough so I understand what the character is doing but not so much it feels like a textbook, Nodame Cantabile does neither, I came out with the same amount of knowledge as I had going in, the worst part about it is that I learnt that there is an instrument called a Oboe that you have to make the reed for but I didn't learn anything about conducting.
It's strange, I have listed more positives than negatives but I don't like it, it's well made which is why it's a 7 but I just don't like it personally.
I would say there's nothing interesting but I stayed till the end so I like to think of it like a snack: there isn't anything to fill you up or make you feel satisfied but it sustains you until dinner.

I didn't mind the first season of SAO but when I watched this season I quickly got a bad taste in my mouth.
Story
In the first half the story was alright (but I'm leaving the stupid character for later)
There did bring back the death element but this time only one character has the ability to kill. Also there was no tension, no character that the main has known has been killed which, in turn, killed the tension, if they had killed a character like Liz or Klein in the first series then there *may* have been tension. Also there is no way Kirito is that
...
good in a game he just started playing, with a sword, IN A SHOOTER! Also the prediction lines are the dumbest things in a shooter, if you want a mechanic like that, make the bullets slower, if you have prediction lines, all you have to so is move out of the way and don't get me started on the "predicting the prediction line." But that was how it should have been done, possible to dodge but not telling the exact travel that the bullet will take.
What was with the side story? It was a pointless quest for a sword (not like Kirito has enough) and nothing impactful happened, it was filler... On a series that didn't need filler.
The last arc, which is the most praised, is also bad.
The new characters didn't get developed (which is I found throughout this season) and it made the arc a little flat, I didn't get to know these characters well so why should I care about them? I also didn't like how the arc was focused on Asuna, it should have been spent on the new characters. I think it only gets praised for getting away from Kirito.
Art
It's A-1 pictures, the art is going to be good.
However, I do want to talk about the design of the maps in the first arc because I feel like that has to do with the art.OK so, in a shooter, you need room to run about, but whenever there was a fight it felt really confined.
Sound
I haven't heard an anime with bad sound so I have nothing to compare it to.
Character
Kirito is still OP as heck, maybe even more OP than in the first season because he didn't get into a Beta to understand the mechanics.
Sinon was a terrible character, she was only introduced to have someone to help Kirito for the first episode and then be a fan-service girl on Kirito's arm with a "tragic backstory."
Sinon's friend only had a personality when he was trying to rape Sinon.
All the characters from the last arc could've been interesting characters if it took the episodes from the filler and used that time to develop these characters but we didn't get that, instead we get a story focused on Asuna.
Enjoyment/Overall
The first season I enjoyed watching even if it wasn't the best anime but I would've dropped this season really quickly if I didn't hear that the last arc was good, which I disagree with.
I did not enjoy myself when watching this, instead I was having the opposite of enjoyment, which is a first for me.

TLDR: go watch and decide if you like for yourself. (I don't normally do this but I felt this one needed it.)
Hooo boy, ok let me start this review with me saying: I'm not a good reviewer/critic I try my best but I find myself just enjoying the peice that I'm meant to review. That and I watched this in the dub.
Story:
I won't write a description because I feel this is something that needs to be watched and not read. I will say, however, that the story is good, I know some will find the 12 year age gap weird but to me it's not
...
weird when you put the ages as 64-76.
Art:
OK let me gush
The art is god-tier, it's OP, it's so amazing!!
Shinkai knows good animators, though the art may have twisted my liking a little it's just that good.
Sound:
I said I watched this in the dub and the voices work really well.
the music is fine, though the peice that was played when the title sounded like a peice from YLiA, or rather the YLiA peice sounded like this peice seeing this was made before.
Characters:
To me the characters seemed really, this could be my lack of experience, still being a kid and all, or it could be that I'm just really bad at judging characters in stories. Again I don't feel like the characters personalities should be written down, they should be seen instead.
Enjoyment:
OK I really enjoyed this for the art alone, though I did like the story as well.
This is probably my worst review because I feel this movie should just be seen and experienced, I don't feel you should judge it on a review... That or I'm just really bad at reviewing things...
If you don't like it, fine by me, I mean, I enjoy the bee movie. (Yes I'm serious, so sue me like a bee would.) but I would say check it out and decide for yourself.

I enjoyed this "flashback" story a lot, while it's not as good as the original anime I still think it's entertaining.
==Story==
I really liked how the story had a focus on Emi and Takeshi, even though Takeshi gets the most attention, I liked how it shows their challenges with the competition and I also like how they show places before they are what they are in the show. (I'm sorry if that's a little confusing)
==Art==
While the art isn't as good as it is in the original, it was still good, I didn't like how during the piano performance of Arima it was just stills.
I also
...
want to talk about the CGi hands, in the original series you could tell that the hands where CGI but it blended in pretty nicely but in this they were horrible.
Also when Takeshi was riding his bike the angle was really weird.
==Sound==
The sound is a bit of a mixed bag, on one hand the OP and ED were good, but there weren't enough Piano performances, one is hardly enough, at one point music was playing when Takeshi was eavesdropping on Arima's practicing but because of the music I thought he wasn't practicing until Takeshi out right said it.
==Characters==
I really liked how they gave Takeshi and Emi more screen time and some more development. However the screen time was shared really unevenly with Emi gat about 20% of the screen time and Takeshi getting the rest.
==Enjoyment==
Even though there were quite a few missteps, I really enjoyed it, because it was more Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
==Overall==
it did feel a bit rushed at times and do wish it didn't maie so many mistakes but Overall I enjoyed it and it was a fun OVA about the past of these characters.

This anime is simply amazing, I thought that Your Lie in April would be the best anime I would see but this anime blows it out of the water. (See what I did there?)
===Story===
Now I gave the story a 9 for the fact that it was not the main driving force (by story I mean the whole sea god being angry and wanting to destroy the surface) while, yes, it was a big part I feel like the characters where a bigger driving force. Now one but I didn't like was how it ended with uncertainty but at the same time that is a positive,
...
I mean, of it ended with a "they lived happily ever after" I would've thought that would be worse than how it ended.
I'm not to bring up YLiA very often but I have one gripe with YLiA which is the lie (don't worry I won't into spoiler territory) which was in my opinion unreasonable, like, I know that lie was the driving force behind the story but I still feel it was unreasonable, but with this anime I only have a semi-gripe (a gripe which was the best way to handle it.)
===Art===
I may never have been to Japan but I can still appreciate how detailed the Art is especially on the backgrounds where the details are breathtaking, it shows little details that you see in real life but nearly never in animation. The character animation is good and they don't stand out from the background, the eyes on the people from the sea (I just realised I never summarised the plot... Ehh it has a summary up above) look a little weird but it does make them stand out from the surface people, if only slightly.
===Sound===
I have never heard/seen an anime where the sound was terrible while I can't judge the Japanese voice actors amd I haven't heard the dub the sound of the sea,cars and basically everything besides the voices is easily a 10.
===Characters===
As mentioned in the story section the characters seem to drive the characters to do what they do more then the actual plot, all the characters have their own personality and they feel real, I can imagine this characters as real people and they grow, especially the main character which is probably because he got the most screen time, and the love... Mess, I heard someone say that if you tried to draw a chart showing who loved who there would be too many arrows, which, to me, makes the characters feel real because you may love someone who someone else also loves and it won't be a clear, this person loves this person, in real life it would be a mess, at least I think that's what it would be like, I don't know because I have never experienced a relationship or even love, only childish crushs. For the characters I give this a 10
===Enjoyment===
Overall I enjoyed this anime, and there were a couple of twists I wasn't expecting which made this series really fun to watch, so again this was a 10 to me.
===Overall===
this kinda ties into Enjoyment because this is a 10, and I honestly say check it out, if I gave scores like Glass Reflection I would give this a Certified Frosty. So check it out, I'm sure you'll love it like I did.
