Re:Zero was a series that had everything to be one of the best series of all the times in the anime story. How is that? Well, first of all, the series got the attention of the general public, so they had the rating to be popular enough and that kept that way until the end of the series; even when the series got finished it still being popular, kinda something like it happen to Sword Art Online in its days (an anime that also kinda could be good but it get just in the bad way in everything end in a mess). And then the
...
anime had a good starting argument, something that started working with the drama factor. And well, that was a good starting. With that they had the middle of the path walked. They could developed the story in a better way, but that didn't really happen.
So, was Re:Zero worth of the hype it got?
Story: 6
As I was saying, the story was okay at the start. The truth is that the first episodes weren't exactly awesome in that aspect. To be honest, the first episodes were boring and kinda plain. That is something that gets fixed later when the drama factor got in, but that didn't really help very much at the ending path of the series. But hey! The story had its moments, these ones were you can be very excited for the "What's going to happen" thing in your mind. Sometimes the argument of the series can feel very forced to happen, but it isn't bad at all. I feel a 6 for this one, because I feel the story wasn't bad at the start and in the middle. Also the "humor" factor here... bleh.
Art: 9
The scenarios were good and also the atmosphere in the story gets you in. Also I liked the openings, that were some of the things I liked the most of this series. Maybe this ones weren't really good as I thought but heh, It can't be helped, I feel like the openings really tell what's the series about. Also, plus point because the girls in here are cute in the art aspect (this is very important in the actual anime series, right?). The art is not a 10 because I don't liked the CGI thing in some parts.
Sound: 8
The music in general is very good, specially the ones in the openings. I didn't like the ending's songs, but it was okay. The soundtrack is also good sometimes. The eight goes for the ones in the opening.
Character: 5
The biggest problem in the series were: The Characters. So much to be said about this aspect. In this series there's a bunch of bad characters as you could imagine. There is: the dumb MC, the dumb and plain love interest of the MC, the loli that tried to help in the "cute" factor but it really didn't make it, the... maids? (I have to be honest here, yeah, it's cliché but meh, I liked Rem as the 80% of the fandom of this series. It can be helped, she really is the best girl in here, but it doesn't feel like a good thing when we are talking about the girls in this series), the guy who looks like a girl, blah, blah, blah, also tons of characters that appears once and never get in there again. If it wasn't for the plain and cliché characters, the series could developed better and that could help to be story. Sometimes the characters act like they MUST for the story developed, very forced.
Enjoyment: 7
I really enjoy of the series at the middle of it. Also the fandom helped me to feel like the series were worth of watching. But it isn't really the big thing. Nothing much to say here. I thought this was going to be as good as my friends told me it were going to be, but it wasn't. I'm sorry. The thing is, this isn't bad too. So... if there's going to be a second season I will watch (probably searching for some explanations of the story that got in blank).
Overall: 7 - Good
I recommend this to people that doesn't want a masterpiece in its anime's collection, just to pass the time. Don't fall for the popular can mean good. Just try to see it for yourself.
