I'll start off by saying that I don't think Tonikaku Kawaii a bad anime; I just don't think it's a good anime. Seeing how highly this show is currently regarded is mildly perplexing - I expected it to be better.
This is a generic rom-com. Nothing more, nothing less. The characters are one dimensional and forgettable, the show is filled with cliches, and nothing really stood out as being particularly well done.
Having said this, if you enjoy rom-com anime, you might as well give it a watch. Nothing about it was egregarious, so it could provide some light entertainment if you go
