The show is a mish-mash of short skits, small gags, and odd music videos all of which are highly referential or incredibly odd and out there. It wields pop-culture, memes, and tropes with the delicacy of a man beating your head in with a baseball bat. This is it's greatest strength, but also it's greatest weakness. If you have at least minor credentials in online shit-posting, Japanese and Western genres, memes and culture then Pop Team Epic will probably be a delight to you. But if you aren't at least somewhat versed in these things then many of the jokes will pass you by

"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is an odd duck.
A story that has an strange cast of characters brought together by a common thread, our title character of Haruhi. All the characters are fine, while some of them are slightly two dimensional and predictable our title character, Haruhi, and our narrator for the story, a High-school boy named Kyon, are more dynamic and interesting. Haruhi is a high school student that wants to be interesting and unique, and as such only wants to be associated with unique individuals. They can't just be any unique person though, they must be uniquely strange. Espers, Aliens, ...

Anyone who does not like Deus Ex Machina and plot points that seem to be hastily shoved into place should not watch this Anime. And any fans of the original FMA Anime should tread carefully. While this is still a fairly good show there are many things that just don't work.
It's always a shame to see good characters go to waste. Ed and Al are two interesting kids who will do no growing or learning over the course of 64 episodes, they began and end their journey the same as they started it albeit with a varying degree of limbs. Our story centers around a ... |
