When you win, it's exhilarating. When you lose, it's devastating.
This is Haikyuu.
Everyone has aspirations and dreams they want to achieve. Everyone has talents they have yet to discover or bloom and experiences yet to be polished. Here, in my opinion, Haikyuu captures those components within a season. This high-octane show makes you kick your inner gear and finally motivate yourself to achieve things. Sure, it is a volleyball shounen, but they did almost all aspects that make a great show, well... great.
Here, I will not delve into the specifics and I'll draw upon the bigger picture of what I see from the show.
Story [8/10]
The story
...
follows in a linear fashion with a clear progression followed by certain setbacks here and there. You got the main character from a somewhat weak start with a certain talent who met with his rival, and both of these characters seek to achieve great things with their ambition. However, with such a simple idea, this was executed very well. The story flows dynamically, it is fluid, and cliches aren't repeated to bore you to death. Over time, they progressed and expanded more on key relationships and more characters that contribute to the team. Heck, even the opposing team and opponents get their screen time really well too.
It doesn't need to be overly complex to be exciting. Sure, there are some certain unrealistic gaps here and there, but that's what you call fiction. In the end, suspension of belief will take the majority over.
I don't know how volleyball works in the first place, but I now know upon watching this. It clearly shows how the strategy works, mind games, managing team dynamics, and how to utilize relationships, to the point of motivating them.
This show is not about the individual, it's about a team progressing their way to the top through trial and error.
Character [8/10]
There's nothing special about the characters; it follows certain cliches and types, yet it works. The character dynamics, relationships, and communication are nothing special, yet it works. It doesn't have to be unique if it's well-executed, because a well-executed show is unique on its own.
They managed to create a good laugh here and there, their dynamics were strong, and communication and reactions were well-executed. Clear character motivation, clear development, and dynamics. Exactly what the majority wanted I suppose.
Art [8/10]
The art is well fitting to such a high-octane show. At times, there isn't anything interesting going on, but once you go into a tense situation, it delivers. It knows how to kick your adrenaline up and wants to make you go "BAM" once the ball hits the ground with such speed that the eye couldn't see.
Overall, it is consistent, clear, and decent for the eye.
Sound [8/10]
I'd say it is also well-fitting for the show. I don't know how to say this, but if everything else just "fits", you won't know how to describe it. It matches the show's atmosphere, and at times might drive your motivation up alongside the awesome ball animation.
The SFX is solid, the music is well-fitted, and overall it is good.
Enjoyment/Overall [9/10]
There is something beyond objective analysis that I couldn't capture. It is probably a humane subjective experience that goes beyond. This show fired me up to do something and gave me a "glimpse" of how both victory and defeat are not the end. There is time for passion, idealism, and enthusiasm, as well as reflection, coping through despair and revival. In the end, it shows the importance of talent, hard work, perseverance, and teamwork altogether.
Fly high, ye crows, and spread your wings wide. If you have dreams to achieve, go for it. Winning or losing doesn't matter; it's the experience and learning factor that matters.

The Infinite Mage, at its core, is a story about your talented protagonist showing and figuring out his OP powers and talent for the world to see. But this is slightly different in a way that most OP protagonist will progress; it involves a linear and unique perspective in advancing the protagonist's power.
Yes, he's OP to a certain extent, but it required a certain level of effort and brain power to realize his "insights" and power about the magic. The story, in this case, mostly centered itself around the protagonists' exploration towards the magical system that their world had, and oh did I forgot to

mention that the magical system itself is quite unique? It involves many unique logical system that is fresh and unique on its own, which is definitely an element that made me appreciate this story is even more.
Please note that I'm rather new in exploring the realm of manga/manhwa, but as a new reader this surely blew my expectations. As a lover of magical systems, this had been a wild ride for me.
The plot itself progressed linearly, with a solid plot threads to keep things engaging. The plot relies on the protagonist talent and the magical system as its main device, which worked pretty well in my opinion.
Lastly, about the characters, I also think that it's pretty solid on its own too. Sure, it's not like high class three-dimensional characters like you see out there, but the author had established the personality, core motivations and interactions pretty well too.
I recommend reading this if you wanted a solid entertainment filled with unique magical system and protagonist solid progress towards greatness that is not really "forced" in a way that is overwhelming and too unrealistic.

Basically, what you can call a no life gamer that has no experience in life whatsoever, however he had mastery in this one game
I'd say they executed the story pretty well, besides my expectations were a bit too high about it
Story [7] : Story in overall, how well it is executed is pretty fine. The whole "social improvement" might actually give you real tips on socializing irl, i do find to get one or two already from this anime
Art [8] : Consider it pretty decent.
Sound [7] : I don't pay much attention to the sound, so i'll just give a 7. the

OP is pretty okay though
Character [8] : The characters are pretty decent. They had some kind of realistic, irl social situations kind of thing.
Overall [7] : A high 7 one, close to 8. It's pretty enjoyable, but the romance tag is a scam, though i can see why this is a romance as it contains that quality in it

This anime is a definition of trash... but not really
Funny but cringe, entertaining but weird, beautiful but hideous
If you were a serious anime watcher that really takes on the point of the plot, writing, pacing and character development, consider to dropping it off
There are many plot holes and weird pacing at times which might put you off
But
If you are just a "casual anime enjoyer" then this works for you.
This is pretty enjoyable besides the chaos of the writing on this anime
...
Based on the genre, i'd say this is more or less 40% romance and 60% of the action
So overall...
7/10, borderline between "good" and "bad" in my definition
