As a fan of the first sword art online, this was slightly better than the original. They story for the first half was interesting enough to keep me watching, but after the first half after they get out of gun gale online, I couldn't figure out what the story was. I gave the story a 9, only because of the first half. The animation style I would say is about the same as Sword Art 1, but I loved the first Sword art's animation style, so I left that the same. Sword art online was one of those anime that I had a huge personal interest in, only to be disappointed with the story. I won't say I didn't like the story, I was just told it was really good. The main protagonist, Kirito, is probably my least favorite character, because he tried to be a badass, but really, any average joe could be him if they actually tried hard enough. The female characters are also, uninteresting, only because they only got one episode each, exept for asuna, and they didn;t really develop much.
