Starting off, the show having 50 episodes is a very positive thing for it. The show spends a lot of time world building, everything from the various plants used for poisons or medicines to the fantastical creature. The creatures specifically get plenty of development, with the viewer being taken for a very enjoyable ride of emotions regarding them, more so in regards to the Touda than the Beast-Lords but I'll leave out those spoilers. The plants getting world building attention is a nice surprise. While of course many plants only occur once solely to show the main character learning throughout the show, some are used ... multiple times and even the viewer can come to learn the effects of them on both human and creatures.

The show has a few time skips which can be a turn off to some people, however the time skips add to the story, and help with character growth, figuratively and literally. The main use for the time skips isn't to jump the characters into having learned a whole bunch more or having been any stronger but instead to put them into different stages of life. People becoming older and moving on past their past even if only somewhat, and how age affects things, which is a nice change of pace to a typical time skip.

As for the art, while far from bad, I'd even say pretty good, it is rather different to a normal art style, with weird shapes and lines that are inconsistent sizes and no building has a flat edges. Though the character design is more typical and the different art style is relegated solely to the background.

The sound for the show is quite amazing, Good sound work and a great OST as well. The show makes semi-frequent use of a few songs to help cement character moments or just larger moments for others. In particular the opening theme is played a fair amount and is usually accompanied by character moments, from large ones to some smaller ones that drive home the overall pleasant feeling the show has most of the time.

With great world building and a story that unfolds slowly and very naturally, all paired with great sound work and fitting art I would gladly recommend this show to any anime fan especially those who enjoy slower storytelling and fantasy elements.

Paced quickly, nothing ever lingers or over stays its welcome. This season maximizes the set-up and progression of the main characters to it's fullest, putting them in situations where they bounce off nicely each other or where they can show growth that feels earned after season one. It's everything a second season should be.

But apart from how it relates to the first season, it's own achievements are worth mention. For a 25 episode show, characters never looked off model and animation remained smooth in most all moments. The season introduces many new characters, some that feel like are set up for a third season. ... The OST while more than just satisfactory isn't the most memorable part of the show. Most of the best auditory moments are from the sounds of running, the ball or the net, the show displays good sound design throughout the many matches in the show.

As a short note on the ending, without spoilers, it was a satisfying ending, one that felt very appropriate. The only detriment to it is the lack of a season three. Enough loose threads are left open that a season three would be much appreciated and only to the shows benefit, yet without it the show ended in a satisfying way that leaving it there isn't an issue.

Though it is just an advertisement. It's pretty poor, the characters and designs do not use the new character designs, rather it used the old Yamamuro designs. The background was a blank colour with no actual location, just sorta in space (maybe). Shenron (Shenlong) is a horrendous 3D model that feels entirely removed from the rest of the scenes.
Goku is pretty dumb, though fitting as an ad in that particular location, but it is a shame either way. Frieza (or Freeza) just sorta makes an appearance and turns golden. Broly, however, does not make any appearance despite it being an ad for the movie of ... his name.
The throwbacks to the original Dragonball, Z, Super and some of the movies were a nice addition. But the only thing directly related to the upcoming movie comes after the credits roll, showing a small trailer for the movie.
Audio is fine enough for what it is. The only particular standout moments are when they use the old opening themes for dragonball and dragonball Z Kai.
