Your Lie in April is a fantastic experience!
I chose this show because it was recommended to me as an anime that would make me cry. Even though this anime did not bring me to tears, it was a very emotional roller coaster with both ups and downs. The writers truly understood the theme of having passion for an art form which they expertly expressed in this series.
This is one of the more dynamic and 3-Dimensional shows I've seen when it comes to character development. It takes the time to explore everyone's motivations and emotions throughout the series. It's clear the writers knew exactly what direction

Gin no Saji is an outstanding series that will warm your heart and give you deep introspection into how you live your life.
This has been the slice of life anime that I have been looking for. I rarely get the fulfillment that this show has given to me. Gin no Saji has interesting and very likeable characters, so much so that I found myself routing for them throughout the series. Hachiken (the main character) is easy to relate and through his dialogue gives some deep insights on life lessons, social issues, and morality that is discussed in the show. Kono Suba's interesting premise and compelling world-building is hampered by its undeveloped characters and lack of plot direction.
I found Kazuma to be a likeable and complex protagonist. He was neither too weak nor too competent, and neither too much of pushover nor too much of a jerk. His attitude and actions when confronted with other characters were congruent with how the viewer would in the same situation. I found myself cheering for Kazuma to accomplish his goals throughout the episodes. The writers really nailed the "NEET shut in" characterization. Unfortunately, I do not have the same praise for the other characters that I do for Kazuma. ... |
