TAFKA (The Anime Formerly Known As) Mayo Chiki!
now more commonly known as
THE anime to not get a 2nd season for trying too hard for a 2nd season.
Yeah yeah, everyone moaned about the ending not being conclusive and instead, just a "filler". I agree, but I don't even think that is the problem.
You see, the characters' profile and their entrance are all brilliantly designed. Then there's a gender mix up that constructed all kinds of intrigue.
The first 4 episode and perhaps a new after are easily 10/10.
Then I found myself coming back to this site to lower my rating again and again.
...
It does not even matter how irrelevant episode 13 is.
The last 4 episodes are easily the most boring episodes out of everything I ever watched. 1/10
In fact, on reflection, episode 10 has way less plot than episode 13. I suppose people complain less because it's not the last one, which means you are supposed to wrap up the story.
The characters are just already running all their old traits. The jokes are tired as well. All 4 episodes could have been written by anyone who has half a brain.
If you are out of really good anime to watch then I'll say it's worth a watch for the first half, maybe first 9. I dragged myself through the last 4 and I'd say it's fine if I just not bothered.
Also, I happened to have watched some subbed and some dubbed. Both for episode 1 and I have to commend the English dub for reworking the dialogues into what is fitting in English as well as more witty and energetic than the Japanese version (as far as the subtitles can tell me). Although later in the series it seems to be the opposite like these really cringey dialogues that should only happen in Japanese, for example "please save me from crying about myself). It's like the English team lost interests or don't know what could possibly make it better.
English voice actors (from the US, I guess) since the recent years have always been high quality. All the girls have very polished voices like they trained very hard at reading and singing. The only problem is, they don't sound like teenagers. To me, they all sound positively 25+. If they try to be more nasal or whiny to act young that would make it even worse (it's not TOO bad in this aspect for this title). So mental note to myself when deciding whether to watch English dubbed: the the characters are typically adult like in Cowboy Bebop then I guess it's ok. If the characters are like 10 year old then no.

Don't trust MAL's genre keywords. This title has ecchi and harem written all over it (well the primary schoolboy can't get married so having a bunch of cute girls all to himself every day is close enough if you ask me), just like they put Harem on Yamada-kun, but if you have seen it, you'd know Yamada-kun barely has a hint of a 2nd admirer, that's far from Harem.
Obviously, I enjoyed this show a lot more than the MAL users average, which stands 6.68/10 as of writing. I suppose I have always been a pervy old man since I was born.
One main character is the
...
caretaker lady, who obviously has to be beautiful and busty, and happens to molest all boys and girls who lives in her building, but somehow legal and in good atmosphere and in good taste.
As expected of Japanese anime, there's is only 1 boy but cute girls of all ages and sizes as far as eyes can see.
Seriously, apart from the ecchi, this show is full of joyful slice of life. Everyone is having a good time and being healthy like working hard at school (all the girls are in student council, - which requires being top notch at school to be eligible), competing at being GOOD at things like sport or cooking, so they are not idiots like Aho girl, which in turn, demands an slightly-intelligent spin to the ecchi scenarios. And the caretaker works hard to look after all these kids so they can have a good time. The main boy isn't criminally molesting females and acting like it's no big deal (a la 7 Deadly Sins - makes me sick) or miraculously plunging his face into panties every step (a la To Love Ru - that's the part I liked the least but I really enjoyed the rest of the show). All the girls just have different personalities, different preoccupations and create somewhat-realistic scenarios for why the boy is sandwiched between them.
So what's so bad about that?
The art and face style reminds me a lot of Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

A large lineup of beautifully drawn girls. The artists' skill at drawing beauties was high. Good variety of appearances and even personalities.
Everything else about the series is absolutely terrible.
First of all, they take turns assassinating 1 target. So whoever tried it at episode 3 obviously failed because there's an episode 4, and then 4 and 5, then 5 and 6, etc.+
Secondly. On the same point, remember when someone told you there's a really great prize, and whoever gets their hands on it FIRST is the winner. And then you go "yeah I'll be the 8th person to take a shot". Because, why would I
...
mind missing out the prize without getting a go?
Then, they don't even die. The girls slap each other a bit => assassination is then deemed to have failed. The the girl leaves school. Put a nice flower on the desk. If you are too weak to tell a story where characters get killed, maybe don't choose assassination as the subject. It's like you make a basketball anime, and then every character in it is too weak to actually play basketball. Everyone had a go and FAILED. And no basketball was played.
The riddles still make 0 sense after you are told the answer. That's not how riddle works in any language I know. Maybe I don't live in Japan but I understood all the other anime I watched. So I have no reason to pity this one.

Something is seriously wrong with whoever wrote this and everyone who invested in it.
Let's say we accept "forcing a girl to eat your faeces" as valid category for entertainment and not argue with it.
A bunch of schoolgirls (and a boy and a teacher) are seemingly abducted and 1 girl is immediately executed for refusing to play "the game" they are abducted for. Up to this point, let's call all this acceptable fantasy, rational from the bad guy's point of view.
None of these girls shed a single tear over a schoolmate killed right in front of them, nor cry nor scream. How mental do you have
...
to be to think any school girl (let alone ALL girls in this show) CAN BE like this?
