Have you ever read one of those manga, usually hentai manga, where a male character is said to have been gender bent as female, yet you never actually see them existing as male at any point except for maaaaybe half a panel on the first page, if that? It happens almost entirely, if not entirely, off screen and the "male" character is basically just a woman the entire time? Megu Milk is kind of like that.

to themselves but is for all intents and purposes female. At no point in time is he ever seen to be struggling in any meaningful way with being female, and he's even given a very easy out for not having to live his life as a woman if he were so bothered by it. I mean, his character starts off looking kind of feminine to begin with (as these characters tend to) and though his character never behaves in what you might call a traditionally feminine way, he still manages to be more feminine than most AFAB characters I've seen in manga, "ore" notwithstanding. To be honest, if I weren't constantly reminded that this character was supposed to be a guy, I would probably forget because that's just how little horsepower the actual gender bending factor seems to be driving the story with.
Now, I'm not saying that an obvious ecchi manga HAS to have a serious, thoughtful take on gender bending; not at all. If anything, this is all just kind of annoying because it feels like the lack of focus on the actual gender bending and the easy escape from Meguru's female state means that the author must focus her clear desire to create drama elsewhere. The simple, easy to use, inherent drama of an errant wish and "unwanted" female body is tossed aside and Shou's personal life soap opera rears its head halfway through with an assortment of bit players who just can't help but derail what little story there is. To make matters worse, as soon as I finally started getting used to this change of gears and started to appreciate what was slowly becoming a more serious series, the author decides to end this manga in the goofiest way possible, throwing away a decent, if somewhat cliched, romance/drama in favor of... whatever the fuck that ending was.
Look, Megu Milk is ultimately not a bad manga to read, but the author clearly having no idea what she actually wants to do with it drags it down quite a bit. Not that this would be a masterpiece even if she DID know what to do with it, but this ends up being the mediocre ecchi romcom that it was probably going to end up being anyway, except worse. Temper your expectations and don't get too attached to this. It's not that good but it's not terrible either. If you like seeing cute girls in ecchi situations (i.e. various states of undress and the usual sexual touching), you'll probably think this is an alright read, but for most people there's really not much value in this.

There is no point in reading this. Everything accomplished by this manga has been done elsewhere by people better at it and done in much less aggravating ways than this.
Now what does this manga "do," exactly? Well there's... horror? Yeah, right. What horror? This "horror" manga is about as frightening as your average episode of Scooby Doo, managing to somehow be even less suspenseful than that to boot. After all, what's there to be horrified about when 80% of the manga is just MC-kun staring at the FMC's ass, crotch, or her feet? Ecchi? Well yeah, sure, I guess. Foot and pantyhose fetishism are

certainly explored in this work, but I cannot imagine why you would read this even if you were into that considering: 1) hentai literally exists for this exact reason and there is such material of this exact character archetype as well (the artist for this work actually does hentai manga, funnily enough), and 2) the female main character has no personality and literally behaves like a mannequin throughout the entire series, never expressing even a hint of emotion. I'm sure the author thought that writing her character this way would make her appear mysterious or ethereal or something, but it actually just makes her look like more of a lifeless doll than anything else. Doesn't help that she arbitrarily refers to herself as MC-kun's servant with no prior setup, basically foisting this weird, ham-fisted off-screen fetish development onto the readers and eschewing any kind of further character development, given that their "relationship" already exists to begin with.
Don't get me wrong though, the art is pretty good even though Magoroku/Kokuryuugan has done better in lewder works and this is hardly the worst thing to read story-wise. There *is* a plot even if it's not a particularly interesting or unique one. It's just that there is no actual point in reading this as it doesn't really offer the reader anything for their time other than an incredibly lazy and poor attempt at cashing in on a fetish. Just horrible. If you're horny, go read something else; hell, go read Kokuryuugan's other stuff. If you want to read a horror manga, go read something else.

Have you ever sat down and tried putting a puzzle board together, thinking all the while that there might not be enough puzzle pieces to actually finish the set and then ended up being right about that by the time you went to finish the puzzle? The board may look "complete" by the time you've assembled it but somehow it still feels wrong; it feels off somehow. This manga is a lot like that.

there, but it somehow just doesn't feel like enough. In this case, it actually just isn't enough. There are so many elements to work with here that just aren't given enough time to develop and get hashed out properly that it does make the story feel wanting and a tiny bit flat in the end. There is a beginning, middle, and ending to this story. The conclusion was also satisfactory. All I wanted was more of what I saw but never got.
Given that, why do I recommend this, then? At the end of the day, I just find Kyouhan charming. It's a story that's both dark and disturbing yet refreshing and cute at the same time, flirting with both mature themes and an innocent love story concurrently. It's hard to give too many details about this without outright spoiling central themes to the manga, but there's plenty of stuff to like here, especially if you like romance. It may not be the most objectively "good" or fleshed out story with only 11 chapters, but the artwork is fantastic and being so short it's very easy to get through. The current plot synopsis on MAL doesn't really do it justice either, as it makes this seem like the type of story that it isn't and doesn't even begin to describe what kind of experience you'll have reading this.
Anyway, here's the rub. If what I've said here sounds at all up your alley, just give it a shot. There's not much to lose here even if the story is missing some puzzle pieces. It's hardly the best thing I've ever read but there's a lot to like here, especially for those less critical than me.

Yeah, so...
I'm gonna be honest. This isn't great. It's not exactly what I would refer to as "bad;" it's (mostly) wholesome, has nice art, and doesn't turn out to be quite as bad as the first few chapters might imply but this is a very short, concise work. It centers around 2 young girls (one of whom is stalking the other) who traipse along in a post-apocalyptic world, doing whatever it is cute girls do in that scenario with a side element of yandere comedy and sprinklings of some romance and drama. enough time for any sort of meaningful character development or world building and everything just kind of... ends after 17 chapters. Rather conclusively at that. I don't see that as a good thing in this scenario, and elaborating more would probably be a spoiler unto itself. I don't even know what the author set out to accomplish by writing this, as it doesn't feel as though there's much of a payoff for reading this story, and the conclusion felt incredibly contrived and unsatisfying to me, even though I'm sure others might see it as a cute and wholesome ending.
In short, I think there are some people who will like this manga as it's cute and sort of funny at times, but overall it is honestly just not that good and there's not much substance to this story. Maybe you'll like it more than I did if you're into this kind of thing but there's just not much to see here.

This Is Screwed Up, but My God This Manga SUCKS
What is the point of this manga, exactly, Ashi-sensei? Showing us how adept you are at wasting Uchiuchi Keyaki's artistic talent on food instead of hentai? Demonstrating your vast swaths of cooking know-how that you probably Google immediately prior to writing the script for every chapter? Do you just hate your readers?
What really enrages me about this manga (other than seeing an artist I really like waste his talent on this) is that the entire experience feels like an exercise in cynicism from the writer. There is no real story, even though they continually pretend as

though there is. Every so often, the writer will hint at the backstory behind our woefully overpowered, genius protagonist (who's perfect in almost every way) and make it seem as though there is some sort of story that he'll get to at some point. Trust me, there is not. Every single chapter seems to inevitably devolve into an incredibly shitty food manga where the characters just endlessly waffle on and on about how good and perfect the food MC-chan makes is and experience a foodgasm every time anything she has made touches their palettes. It's fine the first time, but after the 7 millionth time, it just gets a tiny bit boring, you know?
We might get a chapter with some sort of action or fight scene every so often, but any dilemma is over pretty much instantly because MC-chan is a god who has the answer to everything, on top of being extremely powerful (with two immensely powerful beast companions to boot!) and then we go right back to the contradictory, meandering monotony of MC-chan cooking food, whining about how she just wants to be left alone and then doing absolutely everything she can to get everyone to continually harass her.
This manga has everything it needs to tell a somewhat decent story and it just NEVER DOES. A traumatic backstory with a genderbent MC who has to make his way in a completely foreign world? Nah, who cares about any of that? Let's just do isekai Shokugeki no Souma except worse and give the MC the ability to create basically everything out of nothing. After over 50 chapters of this bullshit, I'm just tired, man. I keep reading, waiting and hoping that Ashi-sensei will eventually get to the point but it just NEVER HAPPENS. Why? I'm really starting to think that the only reason this manga exists is as a cynical cash grab and there was never any good faith attempt at writing a decent story.

I try not to be too harsh on the things that I read as I usually see some sort of value in most manga, even when they might clumsily put a story together. Usually, most manga have one or two good points that make the experience all the more bearable even if the manga overall isn't all that great. The same cannot be said for Ora, Yomekko sa Ikuda! This manga was nothing short of a heaping, hulking pile of fetid canine excrement. This dreadful manga, outside of its art (which is extremely well drawn, I will readily admit here), has absolutely no redeeming qualities

whatsoever.
Now, the obvious problem of the relationship dynamic aside (you know exactly what kind of manga this is and why it's problematic by default, I'm sure)... Characterization is incredibly poor. The male MC is the most brain dead 25 year old I've ever seen, never mind the fact that he looks (and acts) like he's 15 like the rest of the cast. His behavior is inconsistent, childish, and at times borderline deranged. Chihiro is 15 but easily passes for the age that the MC is supposed to be, and surprisingly acts slightly more mature than him in spite of that. I have no idea why the 3rd wheel, Kiho even exists. She's more or less completely ignored the entire time and doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than giving the author a recurring, well-endowed gyaru character to draw and be horny over. The 4th wheel "Prez" (I don't even remember her name) was just... kind of there? Her presence accomplished almost nothing; and it seems like her incredibly contrived existence was for the sole purpose of advancing a single plot point.
Other characters suddenly appeared/became somewhat relevant over halfway through, received no notable character development because... obviously they wouldn't lmao, and they were all just kind of... there. Certain key events towards the end of the manga are handled in the most absurd way possible by pretty much every character and it really just shows that the author is lost in the sauce and letting the "story" ebb and flow in what I can only imagine to be the most cynical way possible.
Incidentally, I've written the words 'story' and 'plot' multiple times now but there's no story to speak of, so there's not much to even say about that. The story is the plot synopsis, and the "plot" moves about in the zaniest of ways possible sans rhyme or reason, ending before you even know what you were looking at the entire time. Actually, if there's one thing that's predictable about the story it's that you can tell what kind of ending it will have pretty much from the first chapter. I won't say it, but if you know, you know.
In short, this manga is terrible. The ONLY good thing about it is its art. Nothing else. I cannot think of any reason to even read this unless you have a deep hatred of yourself like me, you're a masochist or you accidentally clicked on this and started reading out of morbid curiosity and wanted to see how this dumpster fire would end. The art is great but this is ultimately an ecchi fanservice manga that's not even a good romance, and there are much better things to read than this if you want to have that kind of experience. Even your average H-doujin is less aggravating (and more titillating) to read, and I suspect Takahashi Kou-sensei would probably be a successful H-doujin artist if he spent some time applying his artistic talents on that front instead of writing garbage like this.
Final rating of 2/10, boosted only by the superb art style when it deserves a 1/10 at most. Actual rating, art notwithstanding, would be a 0 if it were possible to give it that score.
