Hotarubi no Mori e was a lovely little gem.



The story was not particularly existing. No epic sword fights, no wars. Just a little girl, and fragile boy in a forest.

The story was sweet and gentle, making this a perfect movie for someone who isn't fond of violence.

I felt it could have been a tad longer, but the story wrapped up well enough despite its length.

Hotaru and Gin were good characters. You learn just enough about them to make you care about their fates, but not enough to drag the story down with too much detail.

Hotaru was a sweet little girl who grew into a lovely young woman.

Gin was a sad but lovely character who had a sad past, but finds himself falling in love with Hotaru.


The art was nice, be it sun shining through the canopy of leaves ahead, or a flower dancing in the wind, this was a very pretty movie.



Tragically beautiful, this is definitely something I would recommend watching. Give it a watch. I don't want to spoil the ending, but...just to prepare to have your heart bruised.

Ghost Hunt was very nearly perfect.



The story focuses on a series of cases, instead of one continuous plot. These cases are interesting, and sometimes quite scary.

Despite being about ghosts, the story is logical, and the spirits don't just go boo! I felt like the story could do without the sort of romance, but that's just my opinion.

Not that I didn't like the romance, I just think the show wouldn't have suffered had it not been there.

Mai was an endearing main character. Just a regular school girl at the beginning, she grew a lot during the series, and she has a secret or two that you will learn throughout the show.

Shibuya Kazuya (Or Naru if you're Mai), is a fascinating person. Cold and seemingly unfeeling, he is just as mysterious as the cases they tackle.

Lin was also a character you can't help but want to know more about, and I liked him.

The other members of SPR, while not quite as interesting as the main three, were still fun.



The art was nothing extraordinary. It served its purpose, and it wasn't unpleasant to look at, but I wouldn't recommend the series on the art alone.



To wrap it up, Ghost Hunt was a nice anime with nice characters. Some of the cases did make me shiver. There are scarier things to watch out there, but this wasn't sweet and gentle.

So have a little time to spare? Watch Ghost Hunt. It's worth it, even if it isn't your favorite.

Annarasumanara was a masterpiece. One might even say it was...Magical.



The story was sweet. It was mysterious. It was inspiring. Why walk on the cold asphalt road when you could stand in a field of flowers? Just because an adult has done something before you does not mean you have to follow in their footsteps.

Ah-ee was a sad main character. She was also relatable, with her struggle to feed not only herself but her sister. I liked her, and her struggle to decide what she should do in the future.

Il-Deung was an interesting character. While I disliked him in the beginning, he grew on me towards the end. His struggle was moving as well. No one wants to disappoint their parents.

R was mysterious until the end. Was he a real magician? Maybe we, and Ah-ee, will never know. The rest of the cast was written well too.



The art was stunning, with real life photos merging seamlessly with the authors lovely artwork. It could easily be in an modern art museum.



The end was both wistful and happy, and how you view it will depend on how you answer this question. Do you believe in magic?

I can't really explain why I liked a manga about hair cutting. But I did.



The story was nothing special. I read the whole manga in about two days however, so the story isn't bad. I wish it had focused a little more on inner beauty instead of outer, but in picking up a manga involving a bunch of teens giving makeovers, I can't say I'm surprised.



Kiri was a good main character. Smart and attractive in a way different from most shoujo heroines, you can't help but like her. I wish she had ended up with someone else then who I expected, but all ... in all I liked her.

Most of the other characters were what you would expect in a shoujo manga, but three did catch my eye. Gen, someone who you won't really understand but love anyway, Billy, someone who you hate and breaks your heart at the same time, and Chisami, a cute little girl who plays a bigger part in the story then you might think.



The art was okay.



All in all, not the best manga, but not the worst by far. I enjoyed it. Maybe you will too.

With a sweet story and endearing characters, this was a good anime. So why did I give it a seven?


I enjoyed the story. It was filled with feel-good moments, the occasional cliché and lots of blushing. It did get repetive after a while, but I finished it, and I'm glad I did. Unfortunately, the main flaw lies in Sawako.



I liked the characters. Kazehaya was kind from the start, which was a nice break from the usual tsundere love interests.

I especially liked Ryuu, though I do have a tendency to favor quieter characters. Sadly, i just didn't see what I wanted to see from ... Sawako. Though she did grow, there were flaws. But in the end, she wasn't a bad character, I just wish we would've seen a little more out of her.



The artwork was truly lovely. I can't really describe it in a way that would do it justice, but believe me, even if you hate everything else about this series, you'll love the art.



To conclude, I enjoyed this anime. It had a sort of calm feeling about it.

The romance was cute and innocent, and though it was slow, I didn't mind. So, even if this isn't your cup of tea, watch an episode or two. You never know. Maybe it'll be your new favorite.

Harems are difficult to do well. Some fail to give enough depth to all the love interests, some have a weak hero/herione, or fail to have a decent plot. Not Fruits Basket.




The plot had a nice underlying message, which is that everyone is deserving of kindness. Even the "evil" characters had something heavy resting on their shoulders. The humor was done well, nicely mixing with the darker undertones. The plot deviates from the manga quite a bit towards the end, which is a kind of confusing, but all in all the story is still just as good as the manga.

One of my favorite ... parts in both was when Tohru talked to Ritsu. Though Ritsu was treated has comic relief for the most part, the speech where Tohru talked about how everyone plays a part was nice and sweet.




The story focused on the characters, yes, but that is one of its charms. Each person was treated with respect, and none were tossed aside in favor of the main love triangle. Even Tohru's mother was given just enough backstory to make you respect her.




I am particularly fond of the art. The show is full of bright colors, just like a basket of fruit.




Overall, while the manga is better, the anime should not be missed. It will leave you feeling happy, and maybe change your outlook on life. Just a little.

When this was first recommended to me, I watched a few episodes and stopped. The main character was too wimpy for me, and the whole plot left me confused. So a few months ago, I was looking for a good fantasy anime and came across this once again, and boy am I glad that I did.



The story was rich with details. I enjoy being immersed in a story, and I certainly was sucked in to the deep, complex world of Juuni Kokuki. I don't want to spoil the plot, but I can assure you it is worth a watch.



Though Youko wanted to, she never ... gave up, and that is to be admired for a girl in her situation. She went from a quiet girl lacking confidence to someone worthy of respect, making for some very satisfying character development.

But she wasn't the only character. One thing I really liked about the whole series was the diverse cast. Two who I particularly liked were Keiki and Rakushun. It was nice to have two kind, intelligent males who weren't only there to be love interests. The only character I simply couldn't like was Yuka. She seemed to be heartless to a fault, which is concerning, since it seemed that she wasn't meant to be seen as a villain.



Though I didn't like it at first, the art grew on me in the end. It wasn't unpleasant on the eyes, and even if one didn't like it, they could tolerate it for the sake of enjoying the story.



In the end, was it the best show I've ever watched? No, but i still very much enjoyed it, and highly recommend it to someone willing to watch it to the end.
