is the system different in the States?

Basically once you're hired you're on a 6 month "trial period" during which you'll be judged so the company can decide whether they really want to keep you around or not.
And I, my friend, have passed 6 months :D

Also: I've just picked up the HGUC Shchuzrum Gallus.
It's a Neo Zeon suit designed for breaching front lines, and has a chain mine (like the Kampfer) and the shields on its shoulders become like gloves that it can use to punch opponents.
