I mainly use MAL for anime database and as a bookmark/reminder so that I wouldn't forget which anime that I already watched or missed. I rate my anime score based on my own description.
Score:
1 - 4 = Below average, pretty much a waste of time.
5 - 6 = Average, pretty much an uninteresting MC or story.
7+ = Worth to be included in the re-watchable list and be recommended to other people.
8 - 9 = Interesting, to watch and worth your time.
10 = One of a kind, it's very memorable that it left me a huge impression and hype even after the series already ended.
