Kotaro Lives Alone is a type of story I stive to write myself.
The loveable and sympathetic characters, how the dialogue means EVERYTHING no matter what a character says and the deep introspection the audience experiences (especially those who have experienced the same things as Kotaro) really highlight this anime.
Sure the artstyle is a bit odd but I like it, it sets it apart from other animes and adds a another layer to it!
If this show was animated like another animes it would have taken away from Kotaro as a character imo.

YES YES YES! This anime is an Isekai I can get behind! It's definitely not something you would want to watch if you're someone who only likes anime's with dramatic fight scenes, emotional beats and over the top drama. It's cute, light hearted and comforting. It's a great breather to watch if you've been looking for something lighter, yet enjoyable to consume while you take a breather from your more action orientated shows.
The MC is a delight to see traverse this new world he's been dumped into and isn't some over-powered Isekai protag we're all used to seeing. He's just a guy trying to get ...

I have mixed feelings about this show despite being an avid viewer who's watched all the seasons and is currently reading the light novels. My main gripe about the show is how the studio can CLEARLY make this show great, and has done so with others but for some reason refuses too. I don't usually care if an anime follows the manga "faithfully" if they can add onto the source material and develop the characters further, but this adaptation does none of that.
