I'm Ellie and they/them pronouns please. I've been a fan of anime for a long time and I'm honestly surprised how long it took for me to make one of these.
I also have a bit of a nostalgia filter, but generally I like stuff that plays on the genres it's in. For example OHSHC being a reverse harem with a strong lead, Mahoutsukai no Yome playing with both being Shonen and Shojo with a great plot to boot, Madoka Magica for changing the Magical Girl genre permanently, and Assassination Classroom for the tonal shift and great characters.
Note that I will probably rate ecchi lower than some may just because I don't really think attractiveness makes up for plot. The same applies to BL. One of my lowest is a BL which I think doesn't handle consent well.
I kinda wish this platform had games as well since Danganronpa is my all time obsession, but even as a fan of the series I can admit the anime sucked.
