9) Shows in competition for the top 10 slot that would be given a 10 if I ever expanded it. Shows that I absolutely love. These are shows that I'd recommend to anyone. They are a worthwhile watch for anyone interested in anime or in their respective genres.

8) Really strong shows that are worth watching. Maybe they don't have quite that spark to be among my favorites, but are still quality enough to give them a try.

7) Strong shows that I enjoyed watching. Stumble here and there, but the quality never drops to the point of being hard to watch. Still very much recommended.

6) Decent shows that I enjoyed, but struggle to recommend. These are shows that either make a big mistake that ruins them or a variety of mistakes that really drag the quality down. Despite the errors, I still enjoyed watching the show, but can't really recommend it to anyone not already interested in the material.

5) Average shows that didn't leave me with strong feelings either way. I can't say that I enjoyed watching them, but I also can't say that I was bored, offended, or put off by any of it. Solid, but worth skipping if there are other shows you'd rather watch.

4) Bland, boring shows. Shows that are repetitive, slow, unfunny, uninteresting, or are way too safe for their given genre. These shows don't seem to do enough to warrant a watch, and even if they did, I'd fail to get through them because the whole time I just wish they were over.

3) Shows that are just painful to sit through. These shows take the things that make 4's bland/boring and elevate them to something beyond tedious. Watching these shows fumble is just kind of upsetting and anger inducing. Some are fun to hate watch, but only if there's literally nothing else to watch.

2) Absolute trash. This is the home for all of the lazy, bottom of the barrel harems and isekais (or both). If this show feels like it would have worked better as a hentai, there's a good chance that it'll end up here. If the show is stupidly offensive or lacking anything even adjacent to quality or polish, there's a good chance that it'll end up here.
