I think the greatest coincidence between the two shows is how their japanese protagonists look alike. Eiji (Banana Fish) and Seiji (The case Files of Jeweler Richard, hereinafter The Case Files) have a similar appearance and personality that in the end causes both to be involved in the affairs of their respective foreign partners. In addition, in both there is a certain Bl air without becoming Bl but with certain doses of fanservice. Now, if we accentuate the differences The Case Files is much calmer in comparison, with self-concluding and somewhat educational chapters since with each chapter you learn about precious stones, while Banana Fish has a unique story throughout its chapters. Anyway, if you liked one of the two I recommend you see the other.

The argument of both series is similar: the story follows a group of male friends during his days of students and his loving misfortunes but each one of them is distinguished in its own way and rhythm. The difference between the number of episodes in both manga series is big and therefore the priority with witch the facts unfold. For example: in kimi to boku the romance is more sporadic and predominates the slice of life with a slow plot and many flashbacks since the characters have know each other since childhood. As for Haru wa mijikashi koiseyo danshi emphasis is placed on the development of the relationships of his male characters without taking into account the customary events of his day to day. Rounding the idea in the two works we can find the vigorous air of youth through the eyes of the boys who star in it.
