Yo dude. Nice review for 100-Man no Inochi.I'm also one of those people who only watched till the end (or 'will') because of appreciating the manga, and I share pretty much the same sentiment as you on every point you made.
Wanted to say: I hope you post a fast review for the show (just like your last one) after it's finished too, even if it's mostly just a copy/paste with some minor tweaks that address the finale (or even elaborate on why it felt "so egregious" for the arcs to take up so, so, soooo much time each given how little really happens, or even just giving an opinion on how the Finale felt, etc).

A lot of the other reviews/reviewers, well, if you watch the show without knowing what it was meant to be "being accomplishing/surmised", you might just compare it to something like Isekai Smartphone or Isekai Death March in terms of its atmosphere and lack of tension, but I believe those two prior examples 'aim' to feel this way (ya know, despite their pacing being absolutely-lightspeed...) whereas 100-Man no Inochi is meant to have both Mystery and Tension by design. Usually I'd advocate for 'slow pacings' when seeing most adaptations - as it's usually a tactic for saving cash - but in this case the elongating of events & time-inbetween really does a number on the sense of 'unease' that the manga negotiates.

I mean, I guess I haven't read the manga in about a year, so I might be mistaken in my recollection--but one thing I am certain on is that: 100-Man no Inochi's anime felt like a mere prelude or introduction to the 'actual story'. Covering all bases; keeping the character-count to a minimum; heck, even the first 6 minutes of Episode 11 nearly threw me off thinking I was watching the wrong damn show... It's like they made the first 6 episodes, ran out of budget, and decided to just run everything at 0.5x speed to stretch it out. :< (Lel, would explain why everything feels so janky, ahaha).

Anyways: loved your review as it really got to the heart of the issue with the entire series and not just the surface-level issues concerning aesthetics. Really hope your review comes to represent the show's front-page in the future after the series ends. The only lingering regret I have here is: the pacing, the arc they stopped on, etc ... it feels extremely convenient for if they wanted to roll-out another season of this show in the future. With any luck, such a thing won't become some kind of 'trend', but it's a trap to be wary of in the future. :/

Thanks for the great review, dude! +Helpful!
