I watch anime ironically unironically and read manga if the art's good.
Generally, I hate moe, but at this point I watched more moe than serious seinen stuff. I rarely update this, so my list of shows is incomplete. Generally I hate shows with vanilla romance or anything catered towards 14 year old boys who never experienced sex and will throw a week-long hissy fit when they realize their crush lost her virginity to some college dude who drives his daddy's E-Series BMW and sports the P90X alumni look. I'm looking at you, SAO fans. Generally, if a show has characters past 20, good dialogue and a mature soundtrack, I will probably give it a go. If it's blatantly made for pedophiles, maybe if I need a good laugh. Jin-Roh is my personal Citizen Kane of anime films. Rebuilds are ruining Eva to a point where I am more willing to talk to the 4X year old latent pedo creeper IT professional at a anime con than jailbait whose knowledge of Eva ranges from get in the robot jokes and Shinji-Kowaru fanfics.
Non-anime shows I adore are Seinfeld, Boardwalk Empire, Malcolm in the Middle, The Office and Sopranos. Breaking Bad is great, too, but I get discouraged by fandom in the 18-25 demographic. I watch TV less than usual because I p*rate most of my shows, and find anime to be more practical because if TV shows taught me anything, they the are only interests I have in common with people. So without staying up to date on them, I get total solitude and less white noise conversation. Go ahead, try to make conversation with someone without ever mentioning TV shows or movies. Talk about your hobbies, confide your thoughts on recent events, or maybe just ask how their day is going.
Musicwise, I like anime op's, doujin arrangement, vocaloid and some j-rock. But all these are overshadowed by my gradual appreciation of 90's alternative rock, which is essentially a product of my angsty metal years. I still go to melodeath and power metal concerts with my friends, but you can't top 90's Smashing Pumpkins or Weezer. Pinkerton is my favorite album of all time.
