I like to keep things short, so here's my take. Btw you shouldn't watch this movie if you haven't already watched the prequel yet.
- The story picks up right after the end of the anime series, nothing much has changed besides the settings so there's not much to discuss about without going into spoiler territory.
- Animation didn't lose it's touch and the fight scenes are great, so you don't gotta worry about quality.

- Now character, heres the thing that brought my overall score that could've been an 8 or 9 to a 7. The movie introduces Mary Sioux, that

has now joined the army in order to avenge her father. What made me hate the character with a passion is that she is literally the incarnation of a cliche. Her plot armor incomprehensibly thick which was incredibly annoying. Her rash decision only lead to the deaths of her comrades yet she blames her incompetence at the Empire and Tanya as an excuse. I continuously question her actions and thought whenever the film focuses on her.
Conclusion: I enjoyed the film, if you like the 1st season you should definitely watch it, but the newly introduced anti hero is incredibly annoying. It's not as if she's meant to be liked, but at least try to make some sense.
