The anime's pretty crap compared to the VN. There's SO much content cut out, and the anime only adapts half of the story and has no sequel. But, ah well, glad you're enjoying it.

I recommend VNs to hundreds of people, but only a few get to know this incredible experience I'm getting. Not sure why people are afraid to read superior versions of works from writers of series they've enjoyed...

If you want a sort of Higurashi that will make you think, read Umineko, another work by Higurashi's writer, Ryukishi.
