Read our summary "Teacher portfolio 2019"
2019.
Last year, the deadline to apply for the 2020 certification plan was 31 March and the deadline to upload your portfolio was 25 November. Teachers who decided to apply for certification could upload their portfolio . However, before they can do so, they must have submitted a request for certification to the head of the institution, who authorises the uploading of the portfolio in the "Personal records of the KIR" menu. They could only start working once they had received to
pay for assignments automatic email from the Education Office informing them of the possibility to register.
During the 2019 upload of the teacher portfolio, it was not possible to upload a simplified portfolio. They were required to upload the portfolio in the subjects indicated in the application form, but they also had the option to upload material from subjects taught for at least two hours.
In terms of formatting requirements, the portfolio documents could only be uploaded in PDF format, with Times New Roman font size 12 being the recommended font. It was recommended to use a double-spacing and a standard four-sided margin of 2.5 cm. Designs, templates and samples were provided in the OH material to facilitate the preparation of the teacher portfolio in 2019. The use of these was not compulsory, they were only intended to provide a reference point so that applicants could upload their own documents and designs. If uploading a document was not compulsory for the teacher, they were asked to attach a declaration in place of the document stating that they did not wish to upload it.
There was no recommendation on the length of documents. The 2019 Teacher Portfolio Guide could be downloaded here. If you have any other questions, please contact your local POK.
In order to protect privacy, it was not possible to upload videos or photos of students. The use of children's real names was not allowed in the 2019 teacher portfolio. Teachers had two options: either they could use generic data, e.g. x, y, z, or they could use fictitious names, which they indicated in the document. This approach was used, for example, in the preparation of the individual development plan, the pupil's work, the group profile, letters to parents and reflection documents.
When uploading the teacher portfolio for 2019, the personal data and information on qualifications were automatically imported from KIR, so that the CV section did not need to be filled in by the applicants. In addition, professional experience was also imported from the "Profile" menu, but there may have been gaps that could be filled in by teachers. Other professional experience or information on participation in teacher training had to be filled in by the applicants, as did the language skills and publication activity sections. However, they did not have to fill in certificates of further training or copies of diplomas.
These were the criteria used for the 2019 teacher portfolio procedure, which will apply predominantly to applicants in 2020. We will be back soon with the latest requirements and deadlines!
