Love Hina is a womderful story that is trapped in a poor adaptation. The story follows your typical harem plot. Keitaro, a ronin who is taking his exams again to try to get into Tokyo U inherits an inn from his grandmother, only to find out that it has been converted into a girls dormitory since his childhood all while trying to find the girl he made a promise to in childhood, whose face he cannot remember.
Of course, the typical archetypes are here, the tsundere, the warrior traditional girl, the genki girl, the shy one, the jaded old one, so on and so forth. But
...
all of the really nice slow character development that really gave these girls life and made you care about them is stripped from this anime, leaving it lifeless. If you are a fan of Negima, you will know that it is nearly impossible to adapt Ken Akamatsu's work without ruining the charm that makes his works good. And Love Hina does not break this mold. If you are a fan of harem anime, or even if you are not, check this out in manga form. It is a masterpiece in dynamic character development. But as for the anime, give the soundtrack a listen to, cause the girls' image songs are cute and the late, great Ritsuko Okazaki voices one our ditzy girl and sings some songs. But other than that, pass for the manga.

I am a cat owner myself and can recommend this series to not only cat lovers, but to anyone who likes animals.
Chi's Sweet Home is a short 3-minute episode series about a kitten who lives with the Yamada family. You can read the summary yourself, we know that's not why you're reading this!
Anyway....
Story: 9
I love the pacing of this story! If you have not seen the now infamous Axis Powers Hetalia,( which is a 5-minute series), or any other series with episodes this short, you are missing out! But that is beside the point. This type of series is really difficult to write for because
...
it has to present a good amount of information without feeling like you tried to stuff 30 minutes of content into a 5 min or less time slot. Chi's Sweet Home does this really well, and even sets you up for 2-parters at times. The story does get a little boring towards the end, but it picks up for a great finale.
Art:
I am not an art person, but the style does feel like it suits the tone of the anime. It is light and bright to suit the innocence of the characters and the tone. Also, as a avid manga reader, it pleased me to see that the character designs were kept in very good standing with the manga.
Sound:
I don't know what to say about the BGMS. They're cute.....?
However, with the OP, it sets the mood entirely for the content you are about to watch. Koorogi Satomi does a wonderful job singing about Chi's simple needs and wants in this d'awwww invoking song.
Character:
Here's where I think the characters really shine. Every character is so believable as both an archetype and an individual, that you really think that the Yamada family could live down the street from you. I love that Chi and the family can speak to each other, but instead of going down the route where a lot of fiction (both Western and Eastern) go with making the animal understand the human and act accordingly, Chi understands almost none of it and figures it out with body clues and tone, just like a real cat would. I have 3 kittens now, and I feel that Chi is like my kittens on a screen. They do the exact. same. things.
Enjoyment:
I really enjoyed the throwback to my childhood this brought, and I would show this to any child or any adult who just wants a laugh at a cute kitten.
Overall:
I believe that Chi's Sweet Home is overlooked as one of the greatest anime to be put out. It takes itself seriously, but doesn't. It knows what it is, a 3 minute anime. It does not try to make itself more than that. The scenes are heartwarming and funny if you have owned a pet before and can say- "Yeah, I've done that!!"
The characterizations are lovely and it's just a fun anime to watch.
So please, if you've got like 5-6 minutes, give it a shot!

Gakuen Alice has a plot that takes elements from your typical elementary school children's rom/com and adds superpowers and a mysterious school to give the plot body.
Story: 4
I feel that the story falls flat soon after you delve into the mysteries of the school. They fall into the typical manga pitfalls of dragging an arc out until the dead horse has been beaten to death....and then some. And if that doesn't piss you off enough, they do it....again. The pacing and characterization that took over the first few arcs just dies when the story delves into the School's mysteries. Personally, I could not bring

myself to finish the manga after about chapter 147.
Art: 8
For all the pitfalls of the story, the art is pretty. The backgrounds are well developed and the characters themselves fit their personalities well. I like all the art and you can clearly tell the ages of the characters from the art style. I personally like the special shoujo squee moments in the manga because the art lights up the page and the screentones lend themselves to help the manga tremendously.
Character: 5
There are so many characters thrown into this manga that it is ridiculous. You get to know a few key characters from mikan's class and you also get to know at least 3 or 4 people from each branch of the school and even some more characters. Now this usually wouldn't be a problem normally, except every single character is developed very well, complete with their own back-story and complete personality profile. And most of this is thrown in with overly complicated "solve this mystery" type plot. Again. This wouldn't be a problem if the story and the characterization weren't jumbled together awkwardly.
Getting that out of the way, the characters themselves, which are a good portion of the meat and bones of this manga are relatively likable.
I however am NOT a fan of our main heroine, Mikan. She is whiny, not strong at all and so optimistic she could have a special on PBS. They overplay her martyrdom to the point of annoyance and it just gets worse as time goes on. And you will find yourself latching onto one of the side characters, who are well rounded to a point, quickly.
Overall: 6
Gakuen Alice is something that can be mildly enjoyed until it gets annoying. If you're looking for a children's story, hit Kodomo no Omocha. The main heroine is so much better. But if you're in it for the art, take a look, it's very pretty.

Need to get this out while it's fresh in my mind.
Love Celeb is the story of Nakazono Kirara's journey through the entertainment industry. This is a story that flip flops itself so much that the only thing that is constant from beginning to end is the single minded slutty focus throughout the entire series.
Story
I gave this a 4 because the story doesn't even stay in the same tone it was when it began. It begins with Kirara's manager pushing for her to have sex with as many influential people as she can and then flips to where every bishie in the series is trying
...
to get a piece of that ass. It is very inconsistent and it seems that sensei is trying to come up with random plot elements towards the end to fill things up. The series sputters at the end as it dies.
Art
I enjoyed the art. The males, as per any shoujo manga look pretty and ethereal, while our main heroine is rather plain looking in comparison. The backgrounds, when they are not non existent due to the constant sexing, are well drawn.
Character
The characters are my main gripe with this series. Gin, our main hero is a COMPLETE asshole and potential rapist in the making, and he basically terrorizes Kirara until she gives into him and his whims. And the manager encourages Kirara to sleep with any influential man and whore herself out in chapter 1. Kirara herself is a complete spineless character without the ability to say no. Around chapters 20-25, the series shifts focus and ALL of the characters seem to do a complete 180 and any of the personality traits (except for Kirara) that they had in the beginning switch. It's, I feel, rather a cop out.
Enjoyment/Overall
I feel that this series is basically something that you should read if you want to:
1. Read almost porn, but don't want viruses
2. Are waiting for your favourite release to come out.
If you are not bored and have nothing better to do, skip over this, if not the comedy and outright audacity of the leads will keep you engaged for a little while.

Kare First Love is just another shoujo manga. I feel that while it does discuss topics that not many other manga do, I also feel that its lackluster leads drag the story down somewhat.
Story: I feel that the story is about average. It does discuss topics like dating older men and teen pregnancy and overbearing parents, and the characters play their parts well. I do feel that the story somewhat reaches a plateau for a little while in the middle. But overall it is a good story.
The real trouble I had with this series is the characters. The two leads are not compelling at

all. Karin, our female protagonist changes very little from the beginning to the end of the work. As for the male protagonist, you hate him or love him. There is not real depth to them. I found the side characters to shine more, especially the character Nanri. Miyasaki-sensei put in so many shades to her character and really made her dynamic.
In short, read it if you are waiting for the release of something else, or if you're looking for something to do. Otherwise it's not really worth too much effort.
