This show is definitely peak in terms of catching you off guard with the story, characters, and overall time travel concept. Don't get me wrong, guessing the killer is as straight-forward as it comes. I think overall, it is a predictable but still very enjoyable experience and definitely had me watching the show as if it was really long movie.

I knew as soon as I watched a couple episodes, the teacher was definitely involved, but the back story was beyond expected. Me and my roommate at the time were shocked at the brutality of some scenes and that just added to the characters' backstories/motivations.

If I could describe a fall from grace, it would be Promise Neverland. I remember watching this anime when it first came out and described it as peak after the first couple episodes. It gave us a thrilling, original premise, with some very interesting child characters. I'm a sucker for a bleak world, with minimal margin for success in the stories which this show felt like it was taking to another level. Look, I've never been more embarrassed but also happy I watched this anime. The fan service is beyond over the top, but the humor matches it punch for punch. I found out the manga is continuing, but the anime is done. I wish I could continue watching these characters' stories, but also relieved it's over. The characters are surprisingly very deep and have their own messed up motivations for doing things, but they all jell together so beautifully. I've never been so divided in what I normally enjoy and what I should legally be allowed to enjoy in an anime.
