I'm not the kind of guy who reviews an anime when it's finished, but Sousou no Frieren makes me do it. In times when we're full of isekai, it's surprising to see an 'ordinary' medieval fantasy anime, and that's what makes it so special.
The plot is simple, nothing out of the ordinary in medieval worlds involving demons, elves and magic, but that's what makes it so fantastic. Sousou no Frieren is nothing more than an anime about relationships and connecting with people. The fun thing about Sousou no Frieren is that, unlike usual, it places us in a post-king demon world with a character (Frieren)
...
who is completely indifferent to the world or people. Frieren doesn't understand people or care about them, and a big part of that comes from her long life and her elven race. And it's fascinating how it hooks you to the screen, with each episode you're amazed by the world and the characters.
A very positive point is that although Frieren is the protagonist, each of the secondary characters has a very good dose of development, and in parts, the highlight is Himmel who, even though he only appears in flashbacks, has immense depth, even more than those who accompany Frieren throughout the journey (Fern and Stark). The anime does very well in developing the world with the presentation of the grimoires, the origin of the demons and how the pasts of various characters are connected in a way.
Frieren and Fern's connection is something very well developed from their first encounter, and even though I find Fern an 'empty' character in terms of personality, I think her existence as Frieren's apprentice is essential to the plot
In technical terms Sousou no Frieren is off the charts, even though it's not an anime that focuses on action or fighting, it does it masterfully. Three moments in the anime where the technical quality is well above average: Aura demon girl arc: visually stunning. Stark vs Dragon: Fluidity that I'm only used to from Ufotable projects. Level one mage exam arc: Spectacular in terms of animation, direction, colors, fluidity and effects.
In general, it's hard to see an anime that maintains such a high level of quality for so many episodes in a row, along with such a smooth and exciting story. i can't wait for season two

Goblin Slayer is a very captivating medieval/fantasy anime. There's nothing surprising about its story that we haven't already seen, but it's told in a great way. Although it doesn't reach the level of a masterpiece, the anime manages to keep the viewer's interest from start to finish, thanks to an entertaining story and intriguing characters. But don't expect any overly elaborate antagonists or well-planned plots, the story is really simple.
The Goblin Slayer, despite having the charisma of a door and even being part of the "tough guy" stereotype, proves to be an excellent protagonist. His biggest plus point is seeing him cut goblins in half

quality of the animation is OK for anime, it meets the standard of the year it was released (2018), there are great fight scenes and beautiful visuals, but one aspect to consider as a negative point is the constant use of computer graphics (CG) on the protagonist. Although it's not necessarily a big problem, in some scenes, the constant presence of CG makes it look ugly at times, but if you ignore that, you'll see a good 12-episode anime."

It's a simple anime, perfect for watching without commitment.
I started watching Stray Dogs at the beginning of August... and only finished it at the end of the month. Sometimes it can be uninteresting. It's not a boring anime, but the story doesn't hook you enough to watch the next episode.
The main characters in this anime are charismatic and funny, with the main character (Atsushi Nakajima) being a good protagonist, but one who doesn't stray from the generic. The antagonists, however, are silly and fail to convey any sense of power. Of course, this is due to the mixture of comic and dark, which I find

terrible. A great scene of tension is broken by a joke that isn't necessarily bad. There are many anime that know how to use a serious and funny tone at the same time, but unfortunately that's not the case with Stray Dogs.
As for the animation, the quality is good, but it's not spectacular, it's the level you'd expect from a 2016 anime.
It's not even close to being a bad anime, but I can tell you that I wasn't left wanting more when I finished it, and I'm certainly going to take my time starting season 2.
It's the kind of anime you put on your "watched" list and don't even remember. Anyway: 7/10.
