Demon King Daimao is an interesting story with alot of potential that falls flat during the 12 episodes. While i didn't really hold much hope for it from the beginning when they introduced the first girl named Hattori. You could see straight away that she would be the Will-they-wont-they-tsundere-love-interest which i don't hate but it has been done so many times.

The Story
...
Story resolves around our main character named Sai Akuto, or Acchan as one of the harem girls calls him. He is is an orphan who transfers to a prestigious magic school. First day of he has to take a medical exam in which there is also a magic crow that can tell you what your future job will be. Akuto touches the orb around the crow and thus he is told that he will be a future Demon Lord which scares everybody in the school but that's ok since most of the students don't seem to remember it after few episodes.

I guess the running joke in the series is that Akuto does not want to be a demon lord and tries everything in his power to stop everybody thinking that he would become one. It's fun at start but starts to get boring pretty fast when the humor is supposed to come from constant miss understandings.

Closer to the end we get the more half-assed the plot gets. I think they might have realized that they dont have the funding for second season so they have to force everything in one and thus we get a really rushed ending. I mean the ending resolves around Keena and The blond whats his face guy. Both of whom are really under developed as characters and should serve no purpose as main plot points since everything we learned about them we learned in the two last episodes. How are we supposed to care what happens to them ?

Characters

I haven't much to say about the people in this show. They are all nothing more than cardboard cutouts from the "how to make an ecchi harem anime"
Theres the big boob, medium boob and tiny boobs for all to enjoy. They also have personalities from the previosly mentioned book. There Tsundere girl, girl who is oblivious to everything, girl who constantly seems cold hearted but is totally into him.

The best character in the show is Akuto himself as he is the Demon Lord to be but even he can be so annoyingly oblivious to what the girls are doing. I mean i get that thats the whole point of harem animes but good god man get a grip.

Enjoyment

I have to admit that i did fastforward few scenes 'cause i could already see where it was heading but all in all the show delivers what it set out to deliver. Ecchi Harem Anime and boy if it aint all that. Boob shots everywhere and cloths tearing up during every fight. I'm pretty sure the girls were there just so that the monsters could tear up their clothing.

The fight scenes were cool tho; i wish they had done more with them. The whole idea with magic and such is awesome but they don't play with that idea enough in this.

This series started out very strong. A girl who has been able to see ghosts for all her life and has accepted that as a fact finds out on her 15th birthday that her mother had made a deal with a demon for it to possess the girls body when she turns 15. She is supposed to be this bastion of Yin energy which in this particular universe feeds Demons and they grow stronger.

First few chapters fast introduces us to the Girl called Ah-ryoung who is a pretty much loner in her school because she is often seen talking alone to the air. Unlike her, ... most people cant see demons or ghosts so she seems like a lunatic for babbling away alone. She is an interesting character as she is fairly strong for a person who has been alone for most of her life. She has hard time adjusting to her new life with a demon stalking her and trying to take over her body but its soon revealed that the power within the girl is far too much for this particular demon to out do and they both are left in the akward situation of being bound together by a contract.

The demon is called Nachal who is trying to take over Ah-ryoung's body because that is the only way he thinks he can avoid going to hell. The story has not progressed (at the time of writing) long enough for it to be revealed who this Nachal actually is or why he is still roaming the earth but some flashbacks have been shown where he is standing victorious on a battlefield. He seems cold on the outside but at times he is defending Ah-ryoung from danger. He says that he only does it so he can one day take over her body but i reckon he is growing fond of Ah-ryoung's kind nature. We will have to wait and see.

There are many demons, gods and otherwordly creatures in this story and one of these revealed that every spirit or a demon left in the world is hold there because he or she has a grudge about something and it must be dealt with before one can leave the earth. There are many of these demons introduced and all of them look unique and posses interesting powers. Each one of the following their own plan trying to get something which is out of their reach.

I hope that this series gain popularity so it can continue long enough for all of these characters to have a chance to grow as a character more than just be left out like i have seen happening to many characters in many other shows. There might be a good manga here if the writer dosent screw up with the characters too much.

If you like demons, fighting and a little bit of romance on the side i highly recommend start reading this now as its not progressed too many chapters yet (23 chapters on mangareader.net)
Dont read this manga if you are looking for a decent romance story. Its not that major in this one and i can recommend reading something better for you if you like romance, go read "Kiss Yori mo Hayaku " One of my favorites that.

Unless you are stuck in work like me i cant honestly say that this manga is worth the read. The main characters Anna is really, really stupid and because of this the story just keeps on running on the same tracks all the time.
Heres pretty much how every storyline has gone down so far -

1. Something happens
2. Anna misunderstands what just happened
3. She panics and does something ridicilously stupid
4. Anna cries
5. Somebody tells her she misunderstood.
6.Apology by somebody to someone.
7. She forgets everything she learned and simply does stupid things again.
...
The characters are not very well designed either. I think this manga is meant for girls (im a guy) and maybe somebody somewhere can relate to these kind of problems but its not like the the main two dudes are that sharp either.

Sou (one with the black hair) is a total moron. Sou's main idea in the show is to have a crush on Anna so that their relationship as "Just childhood friends" is troubled. This leads in all kinds of lame scenes where he announces how he loves her and she cant deal with it and makes him angry. This got really boring, fast.

The other guy of the story (one with white hair) Hinata is meaned to be there really to just fix up the fights that Sou and Anna have. It was hinted that He was in love with Anna but unlike Sou, he preferred to keep it to himself. Luckily the writer of this story realized that this Love triangle of sorts is boring and kicked Hinata out and made him move to Tokyo. I think this was a smart choice because he didnt really have any reason to around other than look good. Now he is a sort of email-supporting kind of guy for Anna.

So Anna, where do i even begin. I have never seen main girl so stupid as her. She keeps jumping between guys and crying over it all the time. She keeps rambling over and over again how she cant fall in love with his childhood friend and still does it. I like how she admits how retarted she is for whining about it and then actually falling in love but that is short lived after she missunderstands something for the hundredth time and starts crying. If she wasent so cute i would have stopped reading this long before it even started.

With all that said i must admit that the show does get better around 20th chapter as Hinata leaves the scene and the last two graduate to high school. Couple of more characters were introduced who look like they could bring more spice to this series if they are kept as a part of the show...

Ugh, Idol Shopping... i dont really know where to begin with this. The story kicks off pretty fast with a high school girl who is hired to beat up some bullies and manages to throw punches in two wrong directions. She later learns that her beloved twin-brother is coming home from his year of studying in some school which is appereantly far enough for him not to visit home for a year but in case of an emergency everyone can get there within few pages. Anyway! The brother soon realizes the plot must go on and tries to commit suicide which causes the main girl ... to dress up as his brother and attend the school so that he wouldnt be expelled for not attending classes.

The basic idea of this manga is that its a love triangle between two guys and girl. The guys arent exactly that interesting, blond haired guy is somekinda superstar that has to come back to school after a year of touring or something. He is by far the most interesting of the two because he has some form of a personality to him. He doupts himself, makes mistakes, panics and shows his feelings. Unlike him we have the second love interest, black haired guy who on the otherhand is the student council president and shows absolutely no feeling. It was really hard to like this ice cold guy. In short im not very fond of the characters. The main girl was fun at the beginning but she got way too into stuff later on. Antagonists of this story got way annoying way too fast.

Art can get a bit confusing in parts if you fail to pay attention. One of the characters cuts his hair and i mistook him for somebody else for a whole chapter which made things quite akward.
I think this was a nice story but i found some things lacking or annoying. Its not a very long manga tho so it can be breezed through within couple hours and i didnt feel like i wasted too many minutes of my life on this.

Story: 6
Guru Guru Pon-chan is a story about a female dog who falls in love with a human male and she is given a "guru guru bone" that lets her transform into a human. If you can accept that this is a strange love story between an animal and human i can recommend you to read this.
Some of the chapters are quite fun when they are dealing with the fact that she is indeed, a dog but in many cases they are just playing with the humour factor of how a dog would act in human situations.. Many of the romantic scenes fall flat very ... fast once you remember her being a dog.

I think that this story with these characters would have been alot better if it was done without the whole "transforming dog" affair. This really had a potential for being a good love story between three persons but the writer soon dropped all of that for more dog jokes. I feel that this really cheapens the story by alot.

The main characters Ponta and Mirai are both alright characters i guess. Ponta who is the dog is this very cute, very energetic young girl which i think is very normal in mangas but these types are often only a side character, only thing that raises Ponta to become a main character is the dog gimmic. There were some nice scenes where she was torn apart between the fact that she is a dog and that she is in love with a human and how it could never work.
Mirai on the other hand is your very generic love interest guy. He has some funny moments but those are often triggered by Ponta's foolery. He is strong and protective and nothing we havent seen before in millions of love stories before.

Later on more and more characters are introduced but soon forgotten by the writer. Theres a girl in the very beginning who likes the main guy Mirai but she just gives up on him after few chapters. Later they introduce another guy called Go who is trying to go after the Main character Ponta. Go is my favorite character in this manga because he is this very serious looking guy who on the inside just wants some friends. Theres a scene on early end on how he wants to make "100 friends by becoming a transfer student" but the only friend we see him getting is Ponta.

I might have given out the tone that i didnt like this manga but i really think that in places the comedy works very well and when i was reading this at night time i found myself biting my own fist so i wouldnt laugh so hard to wake up the whole house. This story might have been alot better off with being just a comedy where a dog is transformed into a human girl instead of the girl also falling in love. The character of Go is a really good comedy relief and i hoped there would have been more of him in this manga.

In the long run i dont think i would have missed anything special if i had not read this but for only having 37 chapters this is a fast read and if you have nothing else to read i might aswell recommend you reading this. I was really disapointed in the ending of this story but i wont spoil it.
