Sounds very different, but I dunno what should I rate it. My favorite art is exactly the one from the original GiTS movie.
What about Eureka Seven? You can see, I read and watch a loot of mecha/sci-fi (not only anime/manga), but I never tried E7
I finished watching BTOOOM in one day (it was that good/addictive). Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Zetsuen No Tempest, Bakemonogatari are all animes I've been watching. Some that I plan on finishing before the break is over is Haruhi Suzumiya, Mirai Nikki, Hyouka, Durarara, and Baccano.
I finished kokoro connect and I thought the exact same thing when I first saw it, although Haruhi is better (even though I haven't finished the series yet) it's still alright.
