Tldr; It was okay! Nothing spectacular but still enjoyable. There are other better idol, slice of life, romance shows out there. This one had a pretty steady pace until the end. But it was still enjoyable. A good mediocre/filler watch.

Now a breakdown:
Art- It was pleasant. The art was okay and they had some good animation. I wish for more detailed moments or fluidity to really help capture visuals but there was nothing bad nor stellar.

Music- I'm not really into idol music anime. But I actually liked the endings songs quite a lot. They were cute! There actually isn't a lot of singing in this despite ... them being idols.

Story line- The plot felt a little disconnected. There weren't clear enough goals and obstacles in the over arcbing narrative. Minor episodic ones but I thought the big Countdown Live would be a larger goal. It just felt...empty? There was nothing there that drove to further their growth as characters and what growth was had felt minute. There could have been more challenges within their work as idols, battling the other boy group, their family drama and drama amongst theirselves. There could have been further plot points for their relationship with school mates, girls and our FL.

Characters- Kinda flat? There are too many side characters that hardly get used. Which is a shame, because many of them have the potential to be rather interesting! Same with our 3 leads. There is minor growth in the way the 3 interact with each other and our FL but not enough development. If they don't want a romance then that's fine, but I need something deeper. We get shallow resolutions to "conflict" of family drama and girl issues. And the whole stalker situation was poorly handled.
I can kinda get why they want to keep her job position seceret but so many people know??? And they don't hide it well??? Plus it would avoid scandal if they *were* open about it!

It just felt...disappointing. The FL is actually pretty refreshing with wanting to fight back instead of being pushed around. The characters around her have potential. But we get only a taste of track dreams, her friends, the boys' idol work, and their relationship/friendship. All of it is just a peek with nothing more. Which is a shame!

Not a bad watch if you're in between shows. But you won't be satisfied.

I would definitely recommend Zom 100! It is fun. Not serious. And full of whimsy. Don't expect anything heavy and dark. It is colorful and funny!

I think it is a fun, non-serious take on a zombie apocalypse. A man who takes advantage of the situation in order to live his life freely, completing a bucket list of things that he has always wanted to do now that he is free from work! I have seen people say Akira takes pleasure in the fact that others are suffering and make him out to be this horrible person, when that's not the case. Throughout the series, Akira ... shows nothing but kindness and sympathy to those who are in need of help around him. He is not thrilled that people are suffering, just that he is no longer tied to his job.

By inspiring others to be able to freely chase their dreams and be their true self, he creates a ragtag group of fun loving, kind individuals. There is definitely a bit of plot armor in keeping them safe, but they do also have their weapons and strategies. I find their childish innocence and wonder to be fun and enjoyable. The jokes are silly in a good way. There are some serious topics that are touched on and dealt with in a nice way. But it is in no way some dark heavy serious show. And no one should expect that. The trailer and original movie obviously shows that is not the direction they are going in.

I think all the characters compliment each other well. The animation is RIDICULOUSY good. Like fluid, clean, stylized, colorful. The posing and action is dynamic. The transitions are creative. The color pops! The music suits it and enhances the scenes. I was hooked.

I think at the end when it suggests some trouble up ahead and the "bad version" of Akira, it sets up the possibility of a more serious plot line. And I like that dark version of Akira. It really is the reflection of if Akira's action came from a place of malice (like some reviewers are suggesting they are) instead of his desire to let out his inner child.

Anyways, it's rad.

Great but uncomfortable!

My Dress Up Darling is an overall good show. The romance between the two leads is endearing and sweet. An awkward gentle boy and the outgoing silly girl. It's nice that she's the one to first realize she likes him. A little more refreshing.
I think their personalities are fun. Gojou is gentle and kind and timid. Marin is bold and into a lot of dorky things. I think the character designs are great with the more eye catching Marin. Colored hair, piercings, jewelry and nails. And Gojou with his traditional Japanese style. Nice contrast.
The animation is extremely fluid and nice. It's the ... first thing I noticed and fell in love with. The attention to detail and the movements in between make them feel most human.
The dive into cosplay life is really fun and educational. I greatly enjoyed seeing an overall positive representation of something I love.

The issues:
The biggest issue is the ecchi. I love a good ecchi and they do some fantasic ecchi in the show. The problem is that the characters are minors. Growing up watching anime most teens don't see any issue with the sexualization of fellow teens but as I've gotten into my twenties I don't feel comfortable seeing pantie shots of high school girls. There is a lot lf ecchi. From naked girls who look prepubescent, to tons of panties shots, boob shots, and a very tense love hotel scene. They have tons of sexual material in the show. Marin loves an 18+ erogame, succubus cosplay, and the fated love hotel episode. If they removed the ecchi or made the characters adults then it would be fine. I just am tired of seeing minors sexualized, especially so intensely.

Another issues was that one of the cosplays Marin attempts is a character with darker skin. She proceeds to cover herself in a darker foundation and it can be seen as problematic when dealing with issues regarding people of color and colorism.

I think the overall story is nice. The characters are cute. The animation is amazing. But the ecchi and that one episode make it harder to watch.
