-Both are sports anime -In Ballroom E youkoso, Senguko is very similar to Takamura. They are both mentors to the MC. They are genius sempais who tease the MC -In both series the MCs are rivals with talented individuals who have been doing their respective sports since they were young and their parents are their coaches . In Ballroom E Youkoso , Tatara is rivals with Hiyodo and in Hajime no Ippo, Ippo is rivals with Miyata -Both MCs are timid and kind -Both MCs are from single parent households and don't want to be are burden to their parents financially. Tatara pays for his own lessons and Ippo helps out at his mums fishing store -Both series have a high rewatchability value

Dance Dance Danseur

-Both are anime involving dancing -in beginning of both series both MCs(main characters) are in their final year of junior high -both MCs are from single parent households -both MCs start to dance at a later age than most of their peers -both series have a similar art style though I personally think the art in Ballroom e Youkoso is more polished and visually more appealing -Both of the MCs dance with their emotions -in both series both MCs are rivals with talented dancers who excel at their sports. In dance dance danseur Junpei is rivals with Luou and in Ballroom e Youkoso, Tatara is rivals with Hyodo -there is some subtle romance although ballroom e youkoso the romance is inferenced -in both anime they change their dance teachers to broaden their horizons and gain more technique.

Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou.

The main character Yoshida reminds me of Hachiman Hikigaya. They are both very caring, sensitive and some what blunt . They usually put others needs before their own and try and help people . The stories are not similar but as I watched Hige wo Soru. Soshite Joshikousei wo Hirou I couldn't help think of Hikigaya. Yoshida even looks like a grown up Hikigaya. Both are very enjoyable slice of life anime and I recommend both anime
